You'll be picked up at Munich airport and taken to your hotel. Later this evening, you'll join the other travelers and your Tour Director at a Welcome Reception to get things started.

Munich
A guided tour shows you Munich's highlights like the Glockenspiel on Town Hall and the Frauenkirche in the city centre. After that, the afternoon is yours to spend however you'd like, maybe checking out the Christmas market at Marienplatz. Dinner is a special event this evening.

Munich to Nuremberg
You'll travel to Nuremberg and get on your Travelmarvel river ship. There's a Welcome Reception this evening where you can meet your Cruise Director and the other passengers.

Nuremberg
Walking through Nuremberg on foot, you'll find cobblestone streets with hidden boutiques and artisan shops. You'll see the Christmas Market before the ship heads through the Main-Danube Canal, which crosses Europe's Continental Divide using 16 stair-step locks.

Regensburg
The ship docks in Regensburg where you'll walk around the old cobblestone lanes on a guided tour, seeing medieval buildings and historic sites. Later you can check out three different Christmas Markets. This evening there's a Bavarian experience on board with local beer, snacks, and traditional folk music and dancing.

Regensburg to Linz
You have three choices today: take an optional tour to Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic, go on a guided tour to Salzburg to see the Wedding Church from 'The Sound of Music' at Mondsee, or just relax on the ship as it sails to Linz.

Melk to Dürnstein
The ship docks in Melk and you'll join a local guide for a tour of Melk Abbey, which has been an active Benedictine monastery since 1089 and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. After that, the ship cruises through the scenic Wachau Valley to Dürnstein, where you can see the hilltop castle ruins that once held King Richard the Lionheart prisoner back in 1192.

Vienna
You'll do a walking tour of Vienna that passes by St Stephen's Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace, and the Albertina. Visit one of Vienna's Christmas Markets during your time there. Later this evening, there's a Captain's Farewell Dinner to celebrate the river cruise.

Budapest
After leaving the ship in Budapest, a guided tour shows you impressive sights and tells you about the city's vibrant history. You can get in the holiday mood by visiting one of the charming Christmas markets. There's also an optional tour available to the Hospital in the Rock Bunker Museum, a former World War II hospital carved into caves below Buda Castle.

Budapest to Prague
Following breakfast, you'll board a coach and drive through Slovakia's rural landscapes before entering the Czech Republic. The route takes you past vineyards in the southern Czech countryside on the way to Prague, where you'll spend three nights in this capital city known for its stone bridges, Gothic cathedrals, golden towers, and grand castle.

Prague
A guided tour of Prague's Old Town starts at Strahov Monastery with panoramic views of the city. From there you'll cross Charles Bridge and arrive at Old Market Square to see the Astronomical Clock, which shows time in a really unique way. You'll have free time to wander around on your own, and there's an optional evening tour available for a traditional Czech folklore dinner and show.

You have the entire day free to explore Prague however you want. You could check out the Jewish Quarter, which has important Semitic history and was where writer Franz Kafka was born.
