Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang
Start with a walking tour through Ho Chi Minh's main sites, then head to the War Remnants Museum to learn about the city's complex history. You'll catch a flight down to Nha Trang on the coast afterward, where turquoise waters and golden sand wait for you. The afternoon is free to do whatever you'd like, whether that's hitting the beach or exploring the town.

Nha Trang

Hoi An
After the overnight train, you'll pull into Hoi An, a UNESCO-listed port town that's been around since the 15th century. The day opens up for bike rides through town, visits to ancient houses, and if you're into it, a stop at a tailor for custom-made clothes. There's an optional cooking class in the evening if you want to learn Vietnamese techniques.

Hoi An to Hanoi via Da Nang

Later, you'll check out the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum before having the evening free to explore the city.

Dong Van
You'll arrive early at a local homestay and can catch some more sleep if needed. After breakfast, you're driving the Ha Giang Loop, seeing Heaven Gate, Twin Mountain, and Tham Ma slope along the way. You'll visit an ancient palace and meet H'mong linen weavers who are keeping traditional crafts alive. Dinner happens with your group, and you'll stay overnight.

Ha Giang to Ho Chi Minh City
Chase a waterfall early on before packing up. You'll wind through terraced rice paddies and dramatic limestone karsts, so bring your camera. After local lunch, you'll reach Ha Giang and settle into reclining seats for the overnight bus back to Ho Chi Minh City where your trip started. By the end, you'll swap contact info with everyone and wrap up the journey.
