Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Panama City

You'll arrive at the airport and meet your Sea Company representative who handles your transfer to the hotel in Panama City. After settling in, take some time to rest from your travels. Later in the afternoon or early evening, you'll get together with your guide for a quick briefing about what's ahead on the trip.

  2. Day 2

Panama City to Tigre Island, San Blas Islands

Following breakfast, you'll drive across the Continental Divide to Carti, which takes about 2.5 hours and marks your entry into San Blas Islands and Kuna territory. From there, board a motorboat for a 2-hour journey to Tigre Island. After lunch and setting up camp, you'll paddle your kayak for 2 hours along the rainforest-lined mainland coast (roughly 4 miles) to get familiar with your boat. The afternoon includes a visit to Tigre Village where you can see traditional Molas textiles and meet the artisans who create them. By evening, there's a traditional Kuna dance performance followed by dinner.

    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Motorboat transfer from Carti to Tigre Island

  3. Day 3

    Tigre Island to Diadup Island

After breaking camp, you'll paddle to the uninhabited island of Diadup with two open-channel crossings ahead of you, covering about 9.5 miles over 4 to 5 hours of paddling. The support boat carries all your gear so your kayak stays light and easy to handle. You'll stop on an island for lunch partway through. The late afternoon is yours to relax in a hammock or swim in the ocean. If you want to freshen up before dinner, you can rinse off using water from a Kuna artisanal well.

    Meals

You'll break camp and paddle across sand cays and coral reefs through open channels to reach Mordup, an uninhabited white sand island where a local family lives (3 to 4 hours of paddling, about 7.5 miles total). Once there, you can snorkel at the nearby coral reef, which offers excellent conditions. The rest of the day is open for relaxing on the pristine beach.

The route includes a 1-hour open crossing to reach these closely grouped cays. The islands create a beautiful lagoon setting as you paddle among them. You'll make camp at the sandy tip of an island in this remote location.
