Santiago de Compostela to Sarria
You arrive in Santiago de Compostela and transfer to Sarria, which serves as your starting point for the final 100 km of the Camino. This medieval town sits at the gateway to your pilgrimage journey. Spend the day settling in and getting ready for what's ahead, taking time to rest after your travels and prepare yourself mentally for the walk.

Sarria to Portomarin
Your pilgrimage starts today with an easier first walk through the green Galician countryside. Oak and chestnut trees shade the path as you make your way through small villages like Barbadelo and Ferreiros. By evening you'll reach Portomarin, a historic town where the original center now sits underwater beneath the Belesar Reservoir.

Portomarin to Ligonde
Today involves a gradual climb up into the Sierra de Ligonde, where you'll reach about 725 metres in elevation. The walk is scenic and quiet, taking you past old churches, traditional stone crosses called cruzeiros, and villages including Castromaior, Ventas de Narón, and Ligonde. It's a peaceful day on the trail with good views.

Ligonde to Melide
You cross from Lugo province into A Coruna as you head through forested areas and quiet countryside. The route passes through Campo dos Romeiros and the small village of Leboreiro before you reach Melide. You'll cross a medieval bridge to get into town, a nice landmark after a full day of walking.

Melide to Arzua
This is a shorter walking day, which gives your legs a bit of a break. You'll go through the charming Galician hamlets of Boente and Castaneda before arriving in Arzua. The town is known for its creamy local cheese, so try some after your walk. It feels like a well-deserved reward.

Arzua to Santa Irene

Today you walk the final stretch to Santiago. Excitement and emotion mix as you head toward your destination. Arriving at Plaza do Obradoiro is the moment you've been working toward for days.
