Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Uluru

You'll arrive at Ayers Rock Airport and head to your hotel via complimentary transfer if your flight gets in before 1:30pm. This afternoon takes you to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about the area's significance. From there, a coach tour circles Uluru's base with a driver guide who'll explain the sacred sites and Aboriginal culture in depth. You'll walk out to the Mutitjulu Waterhole before settling in to watch the sunset transform Uluru's colors while you sip sparkling wine.

  2. Day 2

    Kings Canyon

Starting early, you'll travel from Ayers Rock Resort toward Kings Canyon with a breakfast stop at Kings Creek Station, where you'll learn about the station's history and how it supports Aboriginal communities. Next comes your choice: either take on a challenging 6km rim walk around 3 hours long with steep, rocky sections (you'll need solid fitness for this), which offers spectacular views of Watarrka National Park and possibly the Garden of Eden waterhole, or opt for the easier creek bed walk exploring the canyon floor and native plants instead. After lunch on your own, you'll head back to the resort.

This was my first trip on a guided tour. Was feeling nervous - but it ended up being a great experience. Everything went smoothly. The communication from Tour Radar was good. They responded promptly to my queries. It was well organized. The itinerary gave an opportunity to see and have a range of experiences, The tour guide Joe from Down Under Tours (AAT) was fantastic. He really enjoyed his job and was passionate about sharing the places we visited. He was very knowledgeable too. Joe was very friendly and respectful to all of us on the tour.
