Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll arrive in Africa and check into your hotel to get settled. This is your chance to rest up and prepare for the safari adventures coming over the next week or so.
 - Day 2
Nairobi
Start early with a morning game drive through Nairobi National Park. From there, head to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you'll learn about elephant conservation and get to see orphaned elephant calves up close. After grabbing lunch at Karen Blixen Gardens, tour the museum dedicated to the author of Out of Africa. The day wraps up at the Giraffe Center where you can feed and interact with Rothschild's giraffes.

Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
You'll depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya's most famous game area. After lunch at your lodge, head out on your first game drive searching for the Big 5: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo. Your visit here supports conservation efforts through the Endangered Wildlife Conservation Network's Lion Recovery Fund project.

Maasai Mara National Reserve
Both the morning and afternoon are spent on game drives in Maasai Mara, which sits as part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem. The reserve has a strong permanent population of game year-round, and when the Great Migration arrives, the numbers grow by nearly 2 million animals, which creates abundant food for the lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas living here.

Maasai Mara National Reserve to Amboseli National Park
You'll fly from the Mara back to Nairobi, then drive to Amboseli National Park, which is known for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. After settling into your lodge in the foothills, you'll head out on an afternoon game drive to see what's around.

Amboseli National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives give you excellent chances to get close to elephants. You might also see Cape buffalo, zebra, and wild dogs. During the hottest part of the day, relax back at the lodge where you can use the pool, browse the local craft market, or play cards with other travelers.

Amboseli National Park to Lake Manyara
You'll cross into Tanzania at the Namanga border. After lunch in Arusha, continue on to your camp overlooking Lake Manyara. The afternoon is yours to choose: take a guided hike through the forest in the Great Rift Valley, or visit Mto Wa Mbu village to try farm specialties like locally-made fruit beer.

Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara National Park is small but packed with different ecosystems, from groundwater forests to grassy plains to the alkaline lake itself. Your morning game drive lets you watch for the world's largest concentration of baboons, along with giraffe, hippo, and other wildlife. The afternoon is free time at your lodge to rest and recharge.

Ngorongoro Crater
Early on you'll descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. This is the world's largest unflooded caldera, more than 2,000 feet deep with a floor covering over 102 square miles. Game viewing here is fantastic because most animals stay year-round. You'll see lion, Cape buffalo, hippo, elephant, and flamingo, and have your best chance to spot the rare black rhinoceros. A picnic lunch gets served right in the crater.

Serengeti National Park
You'll drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's largest and most famous park. It's home to the seasonal Great Migration of wildebeest accompanied by zebra, gazelles, eland, and impala. After lunch at your lodge, head out on an afternoon game drive to explore this unique ecosystem where animals stay year-round.

Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti spans approximately 5,700 square miles and supports huge biological diversity. Morning and afternoon game drives continue your exploration. You'll have chances to see big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, plus Nile crocodiles, giraffes, gazelles, eland, and many other animals. Maasai tribes live here alongside the wildlife.

Serengeti National Park to Stone Town, Zanzibar
This morning you'll fly to Stone Town, Zanzibar, with a connection through Arusha. When you arrive, a Globus representative meets you and shows you to your hotel. Dinner tonight is at the hotel so you can settle in and relax after traveling.

Landmarks/POIs Stone Town  - Day 13
Stone Town, Zanzibar
A morning walking tour of Stone Town takes you through the island's history and culture. You'll navigate the UNESCO World Heritage site's narrow winding alleys, check out the Old Fort, House of Wonders, and Sultan's Palace while looking at intricate wooden doors and bustling markets. Lunch is at the oceanfront Archipelago Restaurant with fresh local dishes and tropical fruit drinks. Later, head to Jozani Forest to walk through lush mangrove and mahogany forests and spot Zanzibar's indigenous red colobus monkeys.

Say goodbye to Africa with a flight to Dar es Salaam. A day room has been set up for you at Hotel Blue Saphire so you can freshen up before heading to the airport. Plan departing flights after 4 pm to give yourself time to rest and prepare for your journey home.
