Copenhagen
You'll land in Copenhagen and head straight into the city to feel the Scandinavian atmosphere. Start at Nyhavn where the colorful houses reflect in the canal, then walk past Our Savior's Church. From there, you can choose what calls to you, whether that's the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek or touring Rosenborg and Christiansborg palaces. If you're still going by evening, Tivoli has twinkling lights and rides waiting.

Copenhagen
This morning begins at Frederiksberg Have gardens where it's calm and green, then you'll head to Rundetårn for views out over the whole city. After that, Christianshavn's cafés and shops are worth wandering through, and Freetown Christiania offers something different from the usual tourist spots. The afternoon brings you to Amalienborg Palace to watch the changing of the guard, and by night you'll find drinks and nightlife in Vesterbro.

Copenhagen to Oslo
You'll start the day at Reffen, Europe's largest street food market, trying whatever catches your appetite. Later you can see the Little Mermaid statue by the water, then relax in the Botanical Garden for a bit. Before evening, check out Torvehallerne market to find local food and products. That night you board a ferry toward Oslo and settle in for the overnight crossing.

Oslo
You'll wake up seeing the Oslofjord as you arrive in Oslo. After picking up your rental car, start exploring at Aker Brygge harbor district. The Norske Opera building and Munch Museum are both worth your time, and if you want something different, there's a floating sauna with fjord views or the option to swim in the water itself. End the day at Tjuvholmen city beach.

Oslo to Odda
Your self-guided road trip through southern Norway begins with a rental car and stops at scenic viewpoints and fjords along the way. You'll see the 13th-century stave church at Røldal and the dramatic Latefossen waterfall pouring over a mountain bridge. The drive takes you through varied landscapes until you reach Odda, a colorful town on the fjord where you can have traditional Norwegian dinner with water views.

Odda
You're hiking to Trolltunga, one of Norway's most famous trails with the striking rock formation jutting out over valleys and lakes. Pack supplies because the challenging route has steep sections but rewards you with views at every step. As you climb, the vistas get more beautiful with hundreds of meters of steep slopes contrasting against the glimmering Ringedalsvatnet lake. You'll reach the iconic Trolltunga itself and see it in person.

Odda to Bergen
You'll drive toward Bergen crossing the spectacular Hardanger Bridge with fjord views all around. When you arrive, the Fløibanen funicular takes you up Mount Fløyen for views across the city. After that, walk through the colorful wood-paneled boathouses in the medieval Hanseatic Bryggen district, which is where the old town character really shows.

Bergen to Hemsedal
You're heading to Flåm village on the Aurlandsfjord to catch the famous Flåm Railway, one of the world's steepest train lines. The 20 plus kilometer journey climbs 870 meters through deep gorges, past foaming waterfalls, and up toward snow-capped peaks. Next comes the Stegastein lookout at 650 meters elevation for fjord views, then you'll drive to Hemsedal surrounded by mountains and rivers. By evening, cool off at Fekjånænefossen waterfall.

Hemsedal to Stockholm
You'll drive back toward Oslo through the Norwegian landscape, passing merging rivers and the Tyrifjord. After returning your rental car, board a train from Oslo that takes you through Scandinavian nature to Stockholm. You'll arrive at the train station and check in, then explore the historic old town. The metro gets you to Gamla Stan with its colorful houses and royal palace, then climb Skinnarviksberget hill for sunset views.

Stockholm
Stockholm spreads across 14 islands connected by bridges, and you'll explore that unique geography today. Visit the Avicii Arena where glass gondolas go up 85 meters for city views. Walk through the alternative SoFo district with its retro shops, record stores, and second-hand treasures. During the afternoon, grab a pastry and warm fika drink at a café to take a break and recharge.

Stockholm
You'll head to Snösätra, a former industrial area just outside Stockholm that's become one of Europe's largest street art areas filled with colorful work. You might see artists working on pieces while you're there. After that, go to Meatballs for the People to try authentic Swedish meatballs prepared different ways, which is something you shouldn't skip while in Sweden.

Stockholm to Helsinki
Your last Stockholm morning can go a couple of ways: revisit any favorites or explore new spots. If you want nature time, Kungliga Djurgården is a national park right in the heart of the capital with parks, forests, canals, and beaches for hiking, cycling, or picnicking. Later in the evening, make your way to the harbor and board an overnight ferry to Helsinki. You'll feel the sea breeze on deck and watch small islands go by before settling into your bunk.

Helsinki
You'll arrive in Helsinki and disembark from the ferry, then take the streetcar to your accommodation. After settling in, check out the city's highlights starting with Senate Square and its snow-white cathedral. The ornate Uspenski Cathedral has elaborate ceiling paintings worth seeing. Later, relax in the green Esplandi or end the day with a drink in the Design District.
