Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll touch down at Cairo Airport where an On The Go Tours representative meets you. The day is mostly yours to settle in and rest after your journey. If your flight lands early enough, there's an optional backstreets tour leaving the hotel at 10am that walks through local neighborhoods. Later at 7pm, you'll gather with your guide and other travelers for a welcome meeting to go over what's ahead.

- Day 2
Giza and Saqqara
Head out to the Giza Plateau and see the pyramids and the Sphinx firsthand. You have the option to ride a camel around the site if you want. After spending time there, travel to Saqqara to walk through the tombs and temples, including the Step Pyramid of Zoser, which was built around 2700 BC by the pharaoh's chief architect Imhotep.

Cairo to Luxor
Start with a guided tour of Cairo's Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, a massive complex full of artifacts from ancient Egyptian history, including treasures from King Tutankhamun. Then head to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to see well-preserved mummies and ancient objects. After relaxing back at your hotel, you'll board an overnight sleeper train heading to Luxor later that evening.

Luxor to Dendera
You'll arrive in Luxor this morning and travel 60km north to Dendera, one of Egypt's best preserved temple complexes. Spend time exploring the Temple of Hathor with its decorated ceiling dating back 2,000 years. Return to Luxor in the afternoon with free time to wander around town, swim, or relax. There's an optional visit to see the Temple of Luxor lit up at night if you're interested.

- Day 5
Luxor West Bank
Spend the morning on Luxor's West Bank checking out the Valley of the Kings with its decorated pharaoh tombs, the Temple of Hatshepsut with its limestone colonnades, and the Colossi of Memnon. Later, check into your 5-star Nile cruiser for a 4-night stay. You'll have lunch on board and time to relax before heading out to the Temple of Karnak with its sanctuaries, pylons, and obelisks.

Nile Cruising
Spend the day relaxing on your Nile cruiser as it sails downstream. Take in the river views, swim in the pool, and enjoy the Egyptian sunshine from the deck.

Temple of Kom Ombo to Aswan
Your cruise continues to the Temple of Kom Ombo, a temple with unusual twin halls and perfectly symmetrical architecture dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. After the guided tour, you'll keep cruising and reach Aswan this evening. Around midnight, you'll head out by coach toward Abu Simbel.

Abu Simbel Sun Festival
You arrive at Abu Simbel early morning on February 22 to see the Sun Festival of King Ramses II, a rare phenomenon where the sun's rays light up the inner sanctum twice yearly. Explore the 4 colossal statues at the entrance, the rock-hewn Hypostyle Hall, and the adjacent Temple of Hathor. Return to Aswan around noon to rest on your cruiser. Later, take a boat trip to Agilika Island to visit the Philae Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis.
