Itinerary
- Day 1
Melbourne to Echuca
Touch down in Melbourne and make your way to Southern Cross station to catch a train heading north toward Echuca. Once you arrive in this rural Victorian town, you'll board the PS Emmylou, which becomes your home for the next four nights. Around 4pm, the boat departs for Layfield Lane where dinner kicks off with a gourmet Australian barbecue under the stars and live music playing throughout the evening.

Landmarks Southern Cross Station PS Emmylou Upper Murray River - Day 2
Perricoota Station
Breakfast is served on deck as the PS Emmylou glides toward Perricoota Station, and you can take in the Murray River scenery with river red gums and native wildlife along the way. Upon arrival, the skipper leads a guided tour through the historic farm, homestead, and gardens. Back on the paddle steamer for dinner, you'll then watch a documentary screening about the Murray River's history and the paddle steamers that shaped the region.

Murray River Cruise
You'll spend the day cruising back upriver toward Echuca aboard PS Emmylou. There's plenty of time to relax on deck soaking in the views, chat with other travelers, catch up on reading, or grab a barista-made coffee from one of the cosy nooks throughout the vessel. It's a more leisurely day to simply take in the river surroundings at your own pace.

Landmarks Murray River - Day 4
Echuca and PS Canberra Cruise
Native bird song wakes you before deck breakfast. After eating, you'll have a half-day to explore the charming rural town of Echuca on your own. Later you'll board the 110-year-old PS Canberra for morning tea, then return to PS Emmylou for an afternoon cruise upstream where you might spot kangaroos along the riverbanks. The day finishes with a celebration dinner at Deep Creek Marina featuring local flavours and produce, followed by the Captain's farewell dinner on board.

Rise early if you'd like to take an optional stroll along the riverside before breakfast. You'll have one last meal served on board PS Emmylou, then say goodbye to the vessel. From there you'll board a train for your return journey to Melbourne Airport, bringing your holiday to a close.
