Arrival in Tromso
You'll land in Tromso and pick up your rental car at the airport. From there, it's a drive to your hotel in the city center where you can settle in. Tromso sits 320 km above the Arctic Circle at 69 degrees north, so you're entering the Arctic Capital with some serious latitude to your name.

Tromso
This day is yours to explore Tromso at your own pace. The city has a solid cultural scene and good food options if you want to try local restaurants. Optional activities are available if you're interested, including snowmobile adventures, husky and reindeer safaris, or a Northern Lights cruise. You can pick what appeals to you.

Landmarks/POIs Tromso - Day 3
Tromso to Alta
You'll drive through the Lyngen Alps, where massive peaks drop straight into the Arctic Ocean. Two ferry rides break up the drive: Breivikeidet to Svensby, then Lyngseidet to Olderdalen. After that scenic stretch along Lyngenfjord, you'll arrive in Alta and head to the Museum of Rock Carvings, a significant prehistoric site with carvings dating back thousands of years.

- Day 4
Alta to Honningsvag
Start by visiting Alta's Ice Hotel, Sorrisniva, where you can see ice sculptures and grab a drink at the Ice Bar. Then you'll drive north through Finnmark, following Porsanger Fjord until you reach Honningsvag at Norway's northernmost tip. The landscape becomes more remote as you go, and you're essentially at the top of mainland Norway by evening.

- Day 5
North Cape Excursion
At 11:00, you'll meet at Skarsvag junction about 10 km from North Cape. A snowplow will escort your convoy to mainland Europe's true northernmost point. You'll have time to visit the restaurant, museum, and chapel, then the convoy returns at 13:00 back to Honningsvag. After that midday journey, you'll have the rest of the afternoon to recover.

Landmarks/POIs North Cape - Day 6
Hammerfest to Tromso
You'll drive through snow-covered terrain toward Hammerfest, and reindeer herds often appear along the way. At Hammerfest, you board the Hurtigruten coastal express heading back to Tromso. The boat offers coastline and fjord views throughout the journey, and after dark you can go on deck for a chance to see the Northern Lights reflected on the water. You'll arrive late at night.

Departure from Tromso
If there's time, take a final walk through Tromso or pick up any last souvenirs. Then return your rental car at Tromso Airport and continue with whatever comes next on your travels or head home.
