- AMary· September 24th, 2023I would recommend that tour guides should take the tour themselves before leading a group. Things have changed since Covid and just because they led this tour preCovid and have years of experience with Globus doesn't mean they are qualified to make recommendations about what to see and where to eat. That being said goes for my trip to Egypt in January where the tour director only does a Globus trip once a year and doesn't even know how to pick up and deliver luggage. He never gave us lunch breaks while traveling all day on the bus and recommended we grab extra food at breakfast to eat on the bus. The National parks tour I took last May had a former bus driver lead the tour and didn't even know what time breakfast was offered at every location and told us this was his first time leading a tour. We pay a lot of money to take a Globus tour and expect more. Nancy was a delightful person and went out of her way to show us the sights of each area and she was much more knowledgeable than the local guide in Montreal. She showed us her favorite places along the way through Vermont, New Hampshire and Boston. I especially liked the kind words she used to ask a few people who were obviously sick to wear a mask and take medication to protect the rest of us. A couple of people spread a virus to several who sat near them but Nancy's recommendation to wear a mask saved a lot of us from becoming infected. When she herself got sick, she powered through and never short changed us. She bought cough drops and walked through the bus passing them to whoever needed them. We are a US based company, per our airline contracts, flights we book have to originate in the US. We would not be able to book your flights from Singapore. We no longer offer room shares for people who are not traveling together. If you are a single traveler, there would be a supplement added to your tour cost for a single accommodation.
