Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
You'll arrive in Lima and head to your hotel to settle in. The evening is yours to explore at your own pace. Consider walking along the Pacific cliffs in Miraflores as the sun sets, or find a local restaurant to try some Peruvian food. Your trip officially kicks off tomorrow.

Lima to Cusco
After flying over the Andes, you'll land in Cusco and have coca tea to help with the altitude. Then you'll explore this historic city, checking out the cathedral and the Temple of the Sun. From there, head to Sacsayhuaman fortress to see the massive stone walls built by the Incas. You'll also wander through the plazas and narrow streets that show the city's long history.

Sacred Valley
You'll start in the Sacred Valley at the Pisac market, where local artisans sell textiles and handicrafts. After grabbing lunch with views of the valley, you'll visit Ollantaytambo's fortress with its stone terraces built into the mountainside. This town still has its original Inca layout, giving you a real sense of how people lived back then.

Machu Picchu
Early morning train ride takes you through canyon landscapes to Aguas Calientes. From there, you'll head up to Machu Picchu with a guide who'll explain the temples, stones, and terraces. You'll have time to walk around and take in the site before heading back down by train, passing through the Urubamba Valley.

Cusco to Puerto Maldonado
You'll fly over the Andes to Puerto Maldonado, then take a river journey to your eco-lodge in the rainforest. After checking in, there's a guided walk through the trails to learn about the plants and animals around you. Later in the evening, you'll take a river cruise looking for caimans and other wildlife as the sun goes down.

Puerto Maldonado
Paddle across an oxbow lake early in the day, watching for giant otters, macaws, and possibly an anaconda. You'll have lunch, then try a canopy walkway high above the forest floor with views stretching out in all directions. After dark, a guided night walk shows you what comes out when the sun's gone.

Puerto Maldonado
You'll visit a botanical garden and learn how local communities use rainforest plants for medicine. Then try traditional fishing in a jungle lagoon while monkeys hang around in the trees above. The afternoon is free time to relax at the lodge or do optional activities. Dinner tonight is special, eaten outdoors under the stars.

Puerto Maldonado to Lima
You'll cruise back downriver in the morning, looking for any final wildlife. Then it's a flight back to Lima, where you have your last evening in Peru. Check out the Barranco district if you want art galleries and ocean views, or book a dinner with ceviche and pisco sours to end things right.
