Itinerary
- Day 1
San José
Your guide who speaks German will greet you when you land in San José. After you check into your hotel, the day is open for you to wander around at your own pace and get a feel for the city.

- Day 2
San José to Tortuguero
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll drive toward Tortuguero, a region sometimes called the 'Amazon of Costa Rica'. The route takes you past banana plantations and through areas lined with rivers and vegetation. Then you'll board a boat to cruise through the Tortuguero canals, where you can watch for monkeys, caimans, turtles and various birds. You'll return to your lodge by evening.

- Day 3
Tortuguero
Breakfast comes at Laguna Lodge with rainforest views all around you. Your guide will then lead a hike through Tortuguero National Park on marked trails where you might see howler monkeys, sloths, poison dart frogs, toucans and other birds among the tall trees. After returning to the lodge, you'll have time to relax and take in the surroundings.

- Day 4
Tortuguero to Arenal
The morning includes a boat trip through the Tortuguero canals to spot wildlife like birds, monkeys, caimans and turtles. After you reach the port, you'll drive to La Fortuna de Arenal with views of rainforest, rivers and small villages along the way. Once you arrive at your hotel, you can settle in and soak in the region's hot springs.

- Day 5
Arenal to Rincón de la Vieja
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll head into Arenal Volcano National Park for a hike where rainforest trails give you chances to see monkeys, toucans and sloths. Your guide will explain the volcano's geology as you walk. Later in the day, you'll drive to the foothills of Rincón de la Vieja volcano to explore tropical dry forest with fumaroles, hot springs and volcanic mud.

- Day 6
Rincón de la Vieja to San José
You'll hike through the Las Pailas sector of Rincón de la Vieja National Park, walking past steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud holes and clear rivers with the volcano visible. Look for monkeys, toucans and coatis moving through the tropical dry forest. In the afternoon, you'll drive back to San José to spend the evening resting at your hotel.

San José to Panama City
A flight gets you from San José to Panama City in about 1.5 hours. You'll arrive, check into your hotel and settle in for the evening.



- Day 8
Panama City
A panoramic tour takes you along the Amador Causeway with a stop at the Biomuseo, designed by architect Franck Gehry. You'll then walk through Casco Antiguo, the old colonial district and UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing churches and plazas. Grab lunch at a local restaurant here, then head to the Miraflores locks to watch ships pass through the Panama Canal before heading back.

- Day 9
Gamboa
You'll travel to Gamboa for a boat trip around the small islands of Lake Gatun, including Isla Mono where several monkey species live. An indigenous community will welcome you and share their way of life. Your guide and a tribe member will walk you into the forest to show you how plants are used for food, medicine and clothing. The day includes traditional dances, body paintings and handmade crafts before you return.

- Day 10
Panama City to Santa Clara
A transfer takes you from Panama City to Gran Evenia Bijao, a 4-star beach hotel in Santa Clara. You'll have the rest of the day to check out the resort, relax on the beach or explore nearby areas.


- Day 11
Santa Clara
You'll spend the day at your beach resort with time to swim, relax and simply enjoy the space. There's no structured activities scheduled, so you can do whatever appeals to you most.
- Day 13
Santa Clara to Panama City
You'll get a transfer back to your hotel in Panama City's center. The rest of the day is yours to do as you like, whether that's exploring the city or taking it easy at your hotel.


- Day 14
Panama City
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll head to the airport for your flight back to Germany. Make sure to leave time for check-in and security before departure.

Germany
You'll arrive in Germany, wrapping up your time in Costa Rica and Panama. Your tour comes to an end as you head home from the airport.
