You're arriving on Kauai today, the Garden Isle. Since there's nothing scheduled, you've got the freedom to get settled in at your own pace and do some initial exploring around your area. It's a good chance to grab lunch somewhere local, walk around, and get a feel for the island without any pressure.

Kauai
Start early with a scenic cruise down the Wailua River on an open-air boat, and the captain fills you in on Kauai's history along the way. After that, you'll walk to the Fern Grotto, which is an ancient sacred site with some real cultural significance. Later you catch hula dancers performing this traditional Hawaiian art, then head to Kilohana plantation house for your welcome dinner at this historic location.

You'll explore Waimea Canyon, which stretches about 14 miles long and drops over 3,600 feet deep with these vibrant red and green cliffs that really stand out. Back at the resort in the afternoon, you can unwind, then later enjoy a laid-back Hawaiian BBQ dinner.
