Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
You'll arrive at Cusco International Airport where a Himalayan Glacier representative meets you for the hotel transfer. The afternoon is for acclimatizing to the high altitude, so you'll rest and stay hydrated since you're already at 11,000 feet. At 5 PM, your trip leader runs through the itinerary with the group, and then you'll have an early dinner to prepare for the days ahead.

- Day 2
Sacred Valley Tour
After early breakfast, you head to the Sacred Valley. At Pisac archaeological park, you'll see the largest Incan cemetery along with the sun temple, ceremonial altars, and water channels. From there, you continue to Ollantaytambo to check out the Temple of the Sun sitting atop 17 terraces and the distinctive agricultural terraces carved into the mountainside. You return to your Cusco hotel by evening for some rest.

Kilometer 82 to Wayllabamba
You depart Cusco between 4-5 AM for the roughly 1.5-hour drive to Kilometer 82. There you meet your trekking team and cross the Urubamba River to start the 4-day Inca Trail. Day one is relatively easy with visits to Patallacta (an administrative and religious center) and Willkarakay (a military post). You hike through Andean forest and walk along the Cusichaca River, ending at your first campsite in Wayllabamba.

- Day 4
Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo
You hike uphill for roughly 4 hours to reach Llulluchapampa where you'll have lunch. After that, you continue for about 2 hours to Abra Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman's Pass) at 4,215m/13,828 feet, which is the highest point on the trail. You spend time at the pass for photos and then descend to Pacaymayo Valley campsite for the evening.

Pacaymayo to Wiñay Wayna
Starting early, you climb to Abra Runkurakay pass and then descend toward Yanacocha (Black Lagoon) while entering the cloud forest. You walk through various bio-zones and explore Sayacmarca before reaching Chaquicocha for lunch. After lunch, you keep hiking to Abra Phuyupatamarca (the third pass) to check out the archaeological site, then descend through rainforest to Inti Pata. A 40-minute downhill walk gets you to Wiñay Wayna campsite.

Cusco
You wake around 4 AM, have early breakfast, then hike about 1.5 hours to reach Inti Punku (Sun Gate) at 2,730m/8,957 feet. From there, you descend for roughly one hour to Guardian's House, which has the best views of Machu Picchu. After a complete guided tour of the site, you descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Later you board a train to Ollantaytambo, transfer by vehicle to your Cusco hotel, and have a free evening to walk around town.
