You'll arrive in Washington, D.C. today, and since arrival times vary quite a bit, there's no structured sightseeing planned. This gives you flexibility to get settled and start checking out the city on your own terms. Grab a meal when you're ready, take a walk around your neighborhood, or just rest up after traveling.

Washington, D.C.
Start your morning at the White House Visitor Center to see artifacts from the White House collection. After that, you'll head out to tour D.C.'s famous memorials and monuments, which include the National World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Smithsonian museums on the National Mall are open for you to explore at your own pace during the afternoon. This evening, you'll have a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, and then enjoy a twilight tour of the capital's iconic monuments as the sun sets.

Washington, D.C. to White Sulphur Springs
You'll visit Arlington National Cemetery with a narrated tour that takes you to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Kennedy gravesites. Later, the group stops in historic Front Royal where you'll have free time to walk around. From there, you'll head through the West Virginia mountains to White Sulphur Springs and arrive at The Greenbrier resort, a property that's been welcoming guests since 1778. Dinner is at the resort this evening.

Dinner is at the resort again this evening.

You'll leave The Greenbrier and head to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home and gardens where you can tour the main house and explore the property. After that, travel continues to Williamsburg where you'll check into your hotel and have the evening free. There are local dining options nearby if you want to grab dinner out, or you can relax at your accommodation.

Williamsburg
Step into 1770 at Colonial Williamsburg where historical reenactors and artisans bring the past to life. In the afternoon, you can choose between a historical interpreter tour focused on Revolutionary politics or a guided tour about Native American tribes in 18th-century Williamsburg. Later, gather for a Colonial-style dinner at a historic tavern with your group.

Next, you'll visit Mount Vernon, George Washington's home, and tour the main house. Spend time exploring the gardens and grounds, then visit the tombs of General Washington and his wife Martha. Return to your hotel for the evening and join a final toast celebrating this historic journey.
