Cologne
Your Christmas cruise starts in Cologne where you'll board the AMADEUS Riva. Take some time to get familiar with the ship before joining the cruise director for a welcome cocktail and dinner that kicks off the holiday spirit. After dinner the ship heads out overnight toward Koblenz.

Koblenz
Koblenz appears as the ship arrives at the confluence where the Mosel and Rhine Rivers meet. You'll have time to walk around this charming town and see the UNESCO World Heritage cultural landmarks. Back on board, settle in for a scenic cruise down the wintery Middle Rhine Valley. Watch for the famous Lorelei Rock as you travel toward Speyer.

Speyer
The ship pulls into Speyer before breakfast. A guided tour takes you through this former imperial town, then you can browse the traditional Christmas market to soak in the festive atmosphere. Return to the ship for Christmas tree decorating, carols, and a special Christmas dinner. If you're interested, attend Christmas Mass at Speyer Cathedral after dinner. Late evening the ship departs for Strasbourg.

Strasbourg
Strasbourg comes into view at lunchtime. This Alsace town features half-timbered houses and French charm waiting to be explored in the old town. An optional extended city tour in the afternoon shows off Strasbourg's most beautiful spots if you want to join. Get back to the ship by evening before heading toward Mainz.

Mainz
Boxing Day finds you arriving in Mainz around midday. This Rhineland-Palatinate city has plenty of monuments and the famous Gutenberg Museum, which is worth your time if you're interested in culture and literature. Join a guided walk through the city to catch the highlights, then return to the ship for a festive gala dinner hosted by the captain. After dinner the ship starts heading back to Cologne.

Cologne
The ship arrives back in Cologne at 8:00am. Following breakfast, take a city tour that covers 2,000 years of history and cultural highlights, including Cologne Cathedral and the Roman Dionysus mosaic. The afternoon is yours to spend shopping, wandering around at your own pace, or relaxing. Your final dinner on board happens this evening.
