Itinerary
- Day 1
Ushuaia
You'll arrive in Ushuaia and board either the Ocean Albatros or Ocean Victory. After the welcome cocktail, the ship sets sail through the Beagle Channel toward Drake Passage. If you get there early enough, there's time for a day trip into Tierra del Fuego to see the rugged mountains, glaciers, and meadows before boarding.

Drake Passage
The crossing through Drake Passage can get rough with strong westerly winds, but the expedition team will cover safety and give you lectures on Antarctic history, wildlife, and geology. By day three, you'll cross into Antarctic Convergence where the temperature drops noticeably. That's when you start seeing petrels, albatrosses, penguins, seals, and whales. Weather permitting, the ship makes landfall on the South Shetland Islands.

Landmarks/POIs Drake Passage Antarctic Convergence South Shetland Islands - Days 4 - 7
Antarctica Peninsula & South Shetland Islands
You'll spend time exploring the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula, stopping at Livingstone and King George Islands, Deception Island's volcanic crater, and Half Moon and Aitcho Islands where penguin colonies live. The ship heads into Gerlache Strait to see massive icebergs and glaciers, then you can hike over active glaciers at Neko Harbour and check out historic huts at Damoy Point. Wilhelmina Bay offers chances to spot humpback whales. All stops depend on weather conditions.

Drake Passage Return
The ship sails back north across Drake Passage toward Ushuaia. During the crossing, you'll have time in the Nordic Bar, attend lectures from the Expedition Team in the Shackleton Lounge, and watch for wildlife. That evening, join the Captain and Officers for the Farewell Cocktail Party, then watch a photo and video presentation of the whole Antarctic adventure.
