Day 1
Laodicea and Aphrodisias
You'll start from your hotel in Kusadasi, Selcuk, or Izmir and drive out to Laodicea, which was the main city in the Lycus River Valley region. Once there, you can walk through the ancient ruins and see what remains of this historical settlement. After that, you'll head to Aphrodisias, a site dedicated to Aphrodite. The museum is well-preserved and you'll see the stadium, the Temple of Aphrodite, the Tetrapylon, and the theatre while you're there.

This was a great tour of places in Türkiye that, having read about them, now have greater meaning. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and explained the place of the various locations in the broader scheme of the history of that part of the world. That said, be prepared to absorb a lot of information as understanding the relationship between the various sites will add to your experience. Also know that there will be a considerable amount of walking on uneven surfaces (some of the sites are still active archaeological sites) - so be prepared. Depending on the time of year it can be quite hot - so carrying water is essential. Thoroughly recommended.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before January 14th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 14th, 2026, a minimum payment of $300 is required to confirm your booking with Fez Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
