- Day 1
Darwin to Kakadu National Park
You'll leave Darwin early and head out to WakWak wetlands where you can look for birds and possibly crocodiles. After that, you're driving to Kakadu National Park to check in. In the afternoon, there's a guided cultural cruise through the East Alligator Region where you'll learn about creation history and local wildlife. Before heading back to your hotel, you'll stop at Ubirr Rock to see the Aboriginal rock art and catch the sunset from up there.

Kakadu National Park
This day focuses on exploring rock art sites with a local guide. You'll walk through several galleries including Kunwarddewardde Lookout, Anbangbang Billabong, and Nawurlandja, then hike the Naguluwurr art site where you get views of escarpments and savannah. Your guide will explain the history of local groups, their traditions, and information about the plants and animals in the area. Another sunset happens before you return to your hotel.

Kakadu National Park to Katherine
Early morning you'll leave Kakadu and drive southwest toward Katherine through bushland scenery. Watch for red-tailed cockatoos, wallabies, wild horses, and buffalo along the route. You'll stop in Pine Creek to try homemade ice cream and visit the museum there to learn about the Overland Telegraph and the 1870s gold rush. After checking into your Katherine hotel, head to Nitmiluk National Park for a two-hour gorge cruise past 70-meter rock faces where you can spot wildlife before returning for the evening.

Katherine to Darwin
Start the day soaking in natural hot springs surrounded by indigenous vegetation. Then you'll go to Top Didj Gallery to see local artwork and walk through bush food and medicine gardens. Later, head south to Edith Falls for a picnic lunch and swimming under the waterfall. Drive back to Darwin, arriving around 6:30 pm. If you're interested, there's an optional evening walk through Mindil Markets before finishing up.
