I learned a lot about the local culture, history and recent post independence (1991) events and developments from the guides in Khiva, Bokhara, Samarkand and Tashkent. I would say chatting to the informed, educated guides made the experience so good. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Everything was excellent apart from journey from Khiva to Bukhara train journey. Train travel was horrible in a shared sleeper without air conditioning.
