Hervey Bay to K'gari Island
Hotel pickup happens in Hervey Bay, then you'll head to the ferry terminal for your trip to K'gari Island. Depending on your booking, the ferry leaves at 9 am, 1 pm, or 3:45 pm. Once you reach the world's largest sand island, resort check-in opens from 2 pm onward. After settling in, the afternoon and evening are free to use however you like, whether that's relaxing at the resort or booking an optional guided hike to walk around the island and see what it has to offer.

Landmarks K'gari Island - Day 2
K'gari Island
You'll have breakfast and then start a two-day guided tour of K'gari Island using an air-conditioned all-terrain bus. The route covers a lot of ground, including stops at Champagne Pools for a swim, Central Station where giant trees stand, and Wanggoolba Creek. From there, you'll head to Pile Valley to walk through subtropical rainforest, then Lake McKenzie for swimming on its white sand beach. The tour also includes Lake Wabby, and you'll travel across sand island off-road tracks throughout the day, learning about the island's ecology, wildlife, and history as you go.

K'gari Island to Hervey Bay
After breakfast on your final day, head out to 75 Mile Beach, which functions as the island's natural coastal highway and is where you might see native dingos. Stop at Eli Creek to drift downstream through its clear freshwater. Next, check out the Maheno shipwreck on the beach, a well-known photo spot. Later, you'll explore the Coloured Sands (Pinnacles), which holds significance for local Aboriginal culture, then finish at Indian Head for coastal views where marine animals sometimes appear. The ferry back to Hervey Bay departs after this, arriving around 6 pm.
