Itinerary
- Day 1
Amman to Petra
Your hotel pickup happens at 10 am, then you're heading to Mt Nebo first. Once there, you'll see Byzantine mosaics and get views across to the Palestinian Territories and Israel if the day's clear. After Mt Nebo, the Dead Sea is next on the route. It's the lowest point on Earth at 420m below sea level, and the water's so salty (seven times saltier than the ocean) that floating happens naturally without any effort. You'll have time at a private beach where the pools are gentler and there's mud with healing properties. Lunch breaks up the day, and then it's a drive into the mountains to Petra for your overnight stay.

- Day 2
Petra
A local guide takes you through Petra and walks through the history of the ancient city, including how it stayed hidden from the Western world until 1812 when Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt found it. The narrow Siq leads to the iconic Treasury, and from there you'll continue along the Roman road past tombs and the city's amphitheatre. If you're up for it, the 800 steps to the Monastery are there for the taking. Your evening's free, so you can wander around the village and grab dinner at one of the local restaurants whenever you're ready.

After that, you're heading back to Amman and should arrive at the Art Hotel around 4 pm, which wraps up your short break adventure.
