- Day 1
Lyon
You'll arrive in Lyon and settle into your suite aboard the Scenic Sapphire. The afternoon is yours to spend as you like, whether that's exploring the ship, relaxing on the Sun Deck, or heading into the city to try some of the local food scene that makes Lyon famous for dining.

Lyon
After breakfast in your suite, you'll choose one of four activities: take a guided tour through Lyon's hidden traboules passageways and up to the Basilica of Notre Dame of Fourvière, head to the medieval village of Pérouges, try your hand at silk painting, or join a cycling tour to Tête d'or Park. Later this evening, the ship moves toward Mâcon along the Saône River.

Mâcon
You'll wake in Mâcon, which sits at the edge of Burgundy wine country. Pick from four options: drive through Beaujolais to meet a local vintner and taste wines, explore the medieval town of Cluny with its famous Benedictine Abbey, tour the 17th-century Château de Cormatin to see its ornate rooms and gardens, or visit an organic goat cheese farm to see how it's made and try local cheeses paired with wine.

You'll arrive early in Vienne, a city that carries 2,000 years of Roman history. Choose between a guided walk that covers the well-preserved Roman theatre and other historic sites, or join a cycling tour past the Roman temple, a monument to Emperor Augustus, and Ile Barlet River Island.

Viviers to Avignon
Viviers is a medieval open-air museum where the narrow streets have stayed virtually unchanged for centuries. You'll pick from three activities: a guided walk through the Cathedral of St. Vincent and historic monuments, a French Resistance tour with stories of WWII heroism, or an excursion to Grignan to see its castle and Collegiate Church. The afternoon brings more cruising toward Avignon, so you'll have time to relax on deck or visit the wellness centre.

Avignon
In Avignon, the City of the Popes, you'll choose from four activities: guided walking tour of the city walls and Palais des Papes, visit to the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, a market shopping experience with the chef followed by a cooking demonstration, or wine tasting in Châteauneuf du Pape. After lunch, the afternoon is yours to walk around or climb up to Le Rocher des Doms. This evening features an exclusive classical concert at the Palais des Papes.

Arles
You'll head out before dawn and have breakfast after arriving in Arles, a city founded by Julius Caesar with impressive Roman remains and the 20,000-seat Les Arenas still used today. Choose one of four activities: guided tour of the Roman ruins, excursion to Les Baux and an olive farm to learn how olive oil is made, on-board painting class inspired by local art, or a Provence herbal workshop making lavender cream (seasonal, late June through mid-August).
