  1. Day 1

    Porto

    You'll arrive in Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where history and culture blend together throughout the city. After settling in, spend time walking through the historic neighborhoods and checking out local landmarks. Try francesinha, the traditional sandwich that locals love, and taste some port wine from the region. Your accommodation is a 16th-century medieval property in the heart of Porto's historic quarter with views looking out over the Douro River.

    Porto to Furadouro

    This morning you'll cycle 42 km along the Atlantic coast with sea breezes and pine forests around you. The route takes you through coastal towns on your way to Furadouro, which has a nice beach and fresh seafood restaurants. Stop at a local bakery to try Pão de Ló de Ovar, a traditional Portuguese sponge cake. By evening you'll reach your beachfront hotel with spa facilities including a heated indoor pool, Turkish bath, and sauna.

Try Ovos Moles, a local delicacy, and visit the salt flats where you can soak your feet in sea salt. Your accommodation is a renovated 18th-century palace with a pool, garden, and restaurant featuring Moorish architecture.

Grab a local fish dish for lunch, and then a private transfer takes you to Figueira da Foz. You'll stay at an iconic 1950s post-modernist hotel with artwork by Thomaz de Mello, located right on the beach.

The route takes you through pine forests and along the sea, passing through São Pedro de Moel before reaching Nazaré, known for its massive waves. Stay at an early 20th-century seafront palace with ocean views.

Walk through the city seeing the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower, then wander the narrow streets of Alfama, the oldest quarter. Climb up to Castelo de São Jorge for views at sunset. Later, check out Bairro Alto, a bohemian neighborhood with trendy restaurants, bars, and traditional fado music venues. Stay at a hotel on Avenida da Liberdade with an indoor pool and spa.
