What people love about Portugal Tours from Porto
- Portugal Heritage Tour: From Porto To Lisbon
Really great trip with competent and professional driver who truly knows Portugal. The hotels were fabulous. Thank you!
- Portugal Best Experience - 10 Days
The trip was very lovely. The tours were well done mostly with professional, pleasant and informative guides. The itinerary was perfect with just enough time in each location. I thought the hotel chosen in Porto could have more centrally located but was otherwise nice enough. The hotel in Lisbon was better located but could have been nicer…breakfast was served in a windowless basement room. The half day city tour in Lisbon was the only tour that was fell short. We had to meet a small bus at designated location only to be brought to tour bus depot and transferred to large bus. Was supposed to be small group tour. Tour guide seemed to read script into microphone but we couldn’t see her from bus seats. Everyone on bus was asleep. At each location she said ‘get out’ and told us how long to come back to bus. We had no idea what we were seeing. All other tours were quite good however on our last day, our guide showed up to pick us up 1 hour late. When I called the phone number to inquire as to his whereabouts I was told they’d look into it. They didn’t call me back. I called again and was told the driver had car trouble. Finally the driver arrived an hour late and said this was the time he was given. This miscommunication and lack of action from the company when I called was disappointing given how early we had to be ready for the time we were given. Other than those minor issues we very much enjoyed the trip and found everything to be well organized. Thanks!

breakfasts at hotels included were good. Lunches and dinners were not included however the guide offered to handle arranging the lunch meals for 70 euros per person, which everyone agreed to. The guide arranged one picnic lunch prepared by the guide and driver. Two smorgasboards prepared by local vendors, two prearanged meals in restaurants. The meals had good variety and were good, however there was no accounting done to determine if the guide used all of the money or more. He also paid for a couple of coffee/snack stops. The guide tried to arrange all the evening venues as well, and did not offer any other suggestions when asked. If a tour is advertised as no dinners included, I would expect to make my own decision as to where I would eat and would also expect the guide to make severals suggestions of local restaurants in the area.
