    Bangkok

    You'll land at Bangkok Airport and take a private transfer to your hotel. The afternoon and evening are open, so you can either kick back at the hotel or start getting a feel for the city if you're not too tired from travel.

  2. Day 2

    Samut Songkhram - Damnoen Saduak - Kanchanaburi

    Head out early toward Samut Songkhram to catch the Railway Market in action, where vendors set up right on the train tracks. From there, take a boat tour to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, then continue on to Kanchanaburi. You'll tour the JEATH War Museum, walk through the Allied War Cemetery, and see the Bridge over the River Kwai. In the afternoon, check out Tham Krasae Cave and ride across the wooden viaduct on the Death Railway.

    Kanchanaburi

    After breakfast, head to Hellfire Pass Memorial to learn about WWII history at this significant site. The rest of your day is spent at Erawan National Park, where you can hike up to the highest tier of Erawan Waterfalls or just relax in the pools. If you'd prefer something different, you can swap this for a visit to Elephant World instead.

    Ayutthaya - Ang Thong - Phitsanuloke

    Travel to Ayutthaya and explore the temples there, including Wat Phra Si Sanphet and Wat Mahathat with its Buddha head wrapped in tree roots. Later, head to Ang Thong to see the largest seated Buddha image. After lunch, continue to Phitsanuloke where you'll take a tricycle tour through the city and check out the busy local market.

    Sukhothai - Lampang

    Start at a Buddha casting factory, then visit Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat to see the Phra Phuttha Chinaraj statue. Cycle through Sukhothai Historical Park to see the ruins of Thailand's first capital. On the way to Lampang, stop at Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang and tour the 100-year-old teak house Baan Sao Nak. Finish up with a horse carriage ride around Lampang town.

Head to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, stopping at the House of Opium to learn about the region. Before checking into your Chiang Rai hotel, spend time at Choui Fong Tea Plantation for tea tasting.
