Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Montreal

You'll arrive in Montreal throughout the afternoon and evening. Since flights come in at different times, the rest of your first day is unstructured, giving you a chance to head to your hotel, settle in, and get a feel for the city on your own terms. It's a good opportunity to walk around your neighborhood, grab dinner somewhere local, or simply rest after traveling.

    Accommodation
    Hotel (Le Centre Sheraton)

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Montreal independently

After breakfast, you'll take a panoramic city tour that covers Jacques Cartier Square and McGill University, then stop at a local bakery to try Montreal's famous bagels. From there, head up Mount Royal for views across the city. You'll have free time in the afternoon to relax at a sidewalk café, check out a museum, or do some shopping. Start your morning with breakfast at an Indigenous maple museum and grove where you'll see how fresh maple syrup is produced and learn about the ancestral traditions behind it. Next, visit the Albert Gilles Copper Art Studio and Museum to watch artisans hand-produce embossed copper pieces, a craft still practiced nowhere else in North America. You'll stop at Sanctuaire Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, North America's oldest pilgrimage site, before traveling to Charlevoix. Check in at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, a historic castle-style hotel overlooking the St. Lawrence River, where you'll stay for two nights.

Then head out to a family-owned lavender farm to learn how they grow and process their lavender, and you can sample some lavender-based treats. Later, stand at Montmorency Falls, where water drops 272 feet off the Canadian Shield, which is about 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. Elizabeth was very knowledgeable and personable. She had quite a few challenges with some of the guests mobility issues yet she arranged alternatives and checked in with them regularly

It was a great tour with stops at several locations throughout Michigan, espcially 2 days/nights at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The hotel accommodations and included meals were very good. The tour manager, Dawn, was excellent.

Was impressed with quality of service, pick up and drop off, Matt in the lobby to welcome us and give us our keys. Enjoyed the plays and the restaurants, except for the last breakfast in the hotel. Wish we had more energy to see more things in our spare time, but we were worn out from all the walking.
