Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Reykjavik

    You'll get picked up from the airport via Flybus shuttle and head to your hotel. After that, the day is open for you to wander around Reykjavik on your own and get a feel for the city.

  2. Day 2

    Golden Circle Route

    Today you're checking out the Golden Circle Route with its three main stops. First you'll see Thingvellir National Park where the tectonic plates separate, then head to Gullfoss waterfall that drops 34 metres, and after that explore the geothermal area around Geysir with its hot springs and bubbling pools. You'll get back to Reykjavik in the evening.

  3. Day 3

    Reykjavik to Ilulissat

    You'll fly to Greenland, taking about three hours to reach Ilulissat. Once you arrive and settle in, your local guide takes you on a walk through the city where you can check out the museum and harbour on your own time. Dinner's included, and then you'll head out on a three-hour sunset cruise to see the icebergs in the Ilulissat Icefjord.

  4. Day 4

    Eqi Glacier Excursion

    After breakfast at the hotel, you'll leave early for a boat trip heading north to Eqi, which is about 80 km away. The main event is watching massive ice chunks break off from the glacier front as it flows into the fjord. You'll be back in Ilulissat by evening.

  5. Day 5

    Sermermiut Settlement

    You'll take a bus as far as possible, then do a guided 3 km hike to Sermermiut, an old Inuit settlement on the Icefjord. The hike shows you ancient settlement sites and teaches you about 4,000 years of Inuit history while you're surrounded by icebergs. Later you'll visit a local family's home for coffee and hear about living in this remote area.

  6. Day 6

    Ilulissat to Reykjavik

    After breakfast at the hotel, you have the morning to explore Ilulissat one more time and grab any last souvenirs. Then you'll catch your flight back to Iceland and get a private transfer to your Reykjavik accommodation. Your evening is free to walk around the city.

  7. Day 7

    Blue Lagoon

    You'll travel through rocky lava fields to reach the Blue Lagoon where you can relax in the warm mineral-rich geothermal waters. Spend time soaking and enjoying this one-of-a-kind Icelandic spot, then get driven back to Reykjavik. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the capital.

    Departure

    Our tour guide Robb McQueen was excellent, very knowledgeable and informative. The sites we visited were good, although some were crowded due to other tours visiting at the same time, resulting in our tour not having enough time to see everything.

    • For any tour departing before January 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of $600 is required to confirm your booking with On The Go Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 70 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
