Asked on February 4th, 2025What are the temperatures in Yukon In Feb, March and April. When is the best time to see the Northern lights
Mosaic Earth TravelOperator•Written February 2025There is the chance to see the northern lights any time between late August and late April. For winter tours we typically recommend February and March, to maximize the dark hours while taking advantage of warming days. By the beginning of April the snow will be starting to melt and some winter activities like dog sledding are no longer available. Average daily temperatures in Whitehorse in February range between about -5 to -15 celcius, sometimes as cold as -20 to -25 if there's a cold spell. Evening temperatures are about 5-10 degrees cooler. March daily temperatures are between 0 and -10 degrees, with some days getting up to 5 degrees.

Asked on January 9th, 2025Will Mar be too late to bite the northern lights? Also, will it be better to go to Finland or Iceland to review it?
Mosaic Earth TravelOperator•Written January 2025March is a fantastic time to view the Northern Lights in the Yukon as well as enjoy other winter activities during the day. We recommend any time in February or March for this trip, based on availability. There is a chance to see the Northern Lights any time of year in the Yukon, although it depends on weather and cloud coverage. This Yukon experience offers great viewing opportunities including a full evening tour at a dedicated viewing site (unobstructed views of the sky plus a heated cabin and bonfire), and 3 nights at a remote lakeside resort with no light pollution around it.

Asked on January 3rd, 2025Could you please clarify where the meals will be served during this tour? Will they be at a restaurant or the hotel? Additionally, could you confirm if the winter clothes package is provided for the entire tour or only for one specific day? Lastly, could you specify the sizes available for the winter clothes package?
Mosaic Earth TravelOperator•Written January 2025Meals served - breakfast and dinner at Southern Lakes Resort are served in the main lodge dining area. Breakfast is a buffet. Dinner is typically a set menu with variety of choices for appetizer, entree, and dessert (dinner). Day 3 lunch is included with the dogsledding tour; it is a BBQ lunch outside. Day 4 lunch is not included, but is available for purchase from the lodge restaurant. Please note this is a remote, self-sufficient lodge. There is no access to other restaurants, shops, etc. Winter clothes package is included during the time at Southern Lakes Resort, to add to your comfort when enjoying outdoor activities. Sizes range from kids size to XL. We will collect your sizing information closer to departure.

Asked on December 5th, 2024I am looking at booking the Yukon Winter at the Lake 5 day Northern lights adventure, it looks like a nice vacation. I am curious about the accommodations. The hotels, rooms and amenities were not listed. Can I ask why?
Mosaic Earth TravelOperator•Written December 2024The first hotel is the Best Western Gold Rush Inn in Whitehorse (1 night) and the second lodge is Southern Lakes Resort (3 nights). At the BW Gold Rush Inn - the room type is a deluxe king or double queen room. It is a standard hotel with amenities like on-site restaurant, mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room, and walking distance to shops and restaurants. At Southern Lakes Resort, this is a lodge/chalet style accommodation where you will be staying in a Lakeside Cabin, which includes a queen or two queen beds, private washroom, and coffee/tea maker. There is the option to upgrade to a Villa at this accommodation. There is a main lodge that serves all meals and is a common gathering space for guests. This property also has a wood-fired sauna, and access to activities like snow shoeing, snowmobiling, and dog sledding.
