- Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe
Fly into Kampala and get picked up at the airport for the drive to your hotel. You'll settle in and get oriented after your journey.
- Day 2
Mabamba Swamp & Lake Victoria
Take a boat out into Mabamba swamp along Lake Victoria early on to look for the rare shoebill stork among the papyrus. After lunch, head to a traditional fishing village to walk through the local market and see how people live. If you prefer, Ngamba Island's chimpanzee sanctuary is another option for the afternoon instead.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Murchison Falls National Park
Head northwest toward Murchison Falls National Park (330 km), stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see rhinos being raised for eventual release into the wild. Later, walk along the Murchison Falls gorge before reaching your accommodation on the north bank of the Nile.

Murchison Falls National Park Game Drive & Boat Trip
Start early with a game drive looking for lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, Uganda kobs, Rothschild giraffes, and various birds across the savannah. In the afternoon, take a boat trip to see Murchison Falls and watch for giant Nile crocodiles and possibly the rare shoebill.

Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park
Drive west 370 km through tea plantation landscape toward Kibale National Park. You can stop to visit one of the tea plantations if you're interested, then continue to your accommodation, arriving in the afternoon.

Kibale National Park Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland
Do a guided hike through Kibale's forest looking for chimpanzees high in the trees. Later, walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary where you'll see primates and spot birds from the area's 137 species. Head back to rest at your accommodation.

Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive across the equator into Queen Elizabeth National Park (120 km), watching for elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, hyenas, antelopes, and giant forest hogs. Then go down into the Kyambura Gorge's dense forest to track chimpanzees with a good chance of seeing them.

Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Trip
Get up early for a game drive through the park's mix of savannah, papyrus swamps, tropical forests, and crater lakes. Later, take a boat on the Kazinga Channel, where you'll see Africa's largest hippo population.

Ishasha & Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Drive to Ishasha in southern Queen Elizabeth to see herds of buffalo and elephants moving toward the Democratic Republic of Congo, and search for tree lions. Continue 250 km to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO site with endangered mountain gorillas and rainforest. Walk around in the afternoon and rest early if you're doing gorilla tracking tomorrow.

- Day 10
Optional Gorilla Tracking
If you booked gorilla tracking, start very early for a hike lasting several hours through steep mountain rainforest with an experienced ranger. It's strenuous but an unforgettable experience. If not, try the Mubwindi Swamp Trail or hike to Rwamunyoni Peak above 2,607 meters instead.

Lake Mburo National Park
Drive 270 km to Lake Mburo National Park, established in 1982 with grasslands, acacia woodlands, swamps, and small lakes. Begin a game drive when you arrive, spotting zebras, buffalo, impalas, and the crowned crane (Uganda's national bird). Watch for the 313 bird species the wetlands are known for.

Lake Mburo to Entebbe & Departure
After breakfast, drive 310 km back to Entebbe through Kampala, stopping at the equator for lunch and a walk through a colorful market with Ugandan handicrafts and souvenirs. Arrive in Entebbe in the afternoon and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
