Itinerary
- Day 1
Naples to Massa Lubrense
You'll arrive in Naples by train or plane, then head toward the Sorrento Peninsula. The drive takes you past Mount Vesuvius, giving you views of the blue sea and rocky coastline along the Gulf of Naples. By late afternoon you'll check in at your hotel in Massa Lubrense.

Sorrento
After breakfast, you'll walk through Sorrento's narrow alleyways and stop at a limoncello shop to try the local lemon liqueur. There's Piazza Tasso with its monument to the poet Torquato Tasso, and you'll notice the scent of orange and lemon gardens throughout town. The afternoon is free to relax before heading back to your hotel by bus.

- Day 3
Naples
You'll take the Circumvesuviana train to Naples this morning. The old town has narrow streets and balcony-decorated houses worth seeing on the city tour. Stop by the cathedral and the Church of Santa Chiara to check out its majolica-work cloister. From there, you'll pass the San Carlo Opera House and Galleria Umberto shopping arcade on the way to the port. There's time to grab an espresso before the bus back to your hotel (120 km round trip).

Massa Lubrense or Capri (Optional)
You have the choice of an optional speedboat trip to Capri, where you can walk through Augustus Gardens and see views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. After lunch, visit Villa S. Michele in Anacapri to see the whitewashed villa with its gardens and collection. On the return, you'll see Punta Campanella at the island's tip. If you skip Capri, there's a free day to relax in Massa Lubrense or explore on your own.

- Day 5
Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius
You'll spend the morning at Pompeii exploring the ancient ruins buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. There are temples, gates, and theaters showing what life was like in the provincial capital. In the afternoon, take a bus most of the way up Mount Vesuvius, then walk the final section to the crater. The walk is steady uphill and takes some effort, but you'll have great views from the top (85 km total).

- Day 6
Massa Lubrense or Ischia (Optional)
You can take an optional speedboat from Sorrento to Ischia, the green island with pine forests and vineyards. The trip takes you around the extinct volcano Monte Epomeo to see the island's best spots. The afternoon is yours to visit Aragonese castle, explore the town, or walk to the beach before the speedboat returns you to Sorrento. Otherwise, you'll have a free day to relax in Massa Lubrense or walk around Sorrento.

Amalfi Coast - Positano - Amalfi - Ravello
You'll travel along the Amalfitana, the winding coastal road that cuts through gorges and cliffs with constantly changing views. The route passes through Positano and Amalfi before reaching Ravello, a quiet hilltop town surrounded by vineyards and lemon groves. You'll see the cathedral and can relax in Villa Rufolo's gardens overlooking the Gulf of Salerno (100 km).
