Arrival in Basel
You'll arrive at Basel airport where an Emerald Cruises representative meets you for transfer to your Star-Ship. After getting settled into your cabin, join the other guests for dinner on board this evening.

Freiburg
The ship docks in Freiburg, a city set in the Black Forest. You can walk through the historic center to see the colorful half-timbered houses and market square, then check out the botanical garden. Or if you prefer something more active, there's a guided bike tour around the medieval town of Breisach with views of the Rhine River.

Strasbourg
After docking in Kehl, you'll travel by coach to Strasbourg. A local guide takes you through the cobbled squares and the Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, including the Petite France area with its canal system and half-timbered buildings. In the afternoon, you can explore on your own, take an active walk to Orangerie Park, or head to Baden Baden for a spa experience.

Schwetzingen Palace & Bad-Dürkheim
Today offers options depending on what interests you. You could visit Schwetzingen Palace to see the interior and gardens with over 100 sculptures, or join a guided hike through the vineyards around Bad-Dürkheim. There's also an optional tour of Heidelberg if you'd rather explore that direction.

Rhine Gorge & Koblenz
The ship sails through the UNESCO World Heritage Rhine Gorge where castles sit on hilltops above the river. Then you reach Koblenz, an old city with character. A local guide walks you through the cobbled squares and narrow streets, and shows you the German Corner where two major rivers meet, plus the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.

Cologne & Düsseldorf
You arrive in Cologne, one of Germany's oldest cities. Choose between a guided tour of the Old Town to see the famous Cathedral, or take an active walk through the Cologne gardens. Later, the ship sails to Düsseldorf where you'll take a guided tour including the Japanese gardens. There's also an optional beer experience available.

Keukenhof Gardens
The day centers on visiting the Keukenhof Gardens with over 800 varieties of spring tulips, hyacinths, and orchids. Landscape architects explain the year's theme and planting methods. Back on the Star-Ship in the afternoon, you can try a traditional Dutch clog painting workshop or take an optional private tour to explore Amsterdam's lesser-known areas.
