Itinerary
- Day 1
Madrid
You'll arrive in Madrid and get settled at your hotel. If you're not interested in taking the traditional siesta, there's plenty to explore on the city's golden streets and get a feel for why this football-obsessed city captures people's attention. This evening you'll meet your Travel Director and the other travelers, then head out for tapas to see what draws locals to Madrid's nightlife scene.

Madrid
A local guide takes you through Madrid's main sights in the morning, including the Cibeles Fountain and Paseo de la Castellana, plus the Royal Palace. Your afternoon opens up for either more wandering around Madrid or choosing to day trip to Segovia, the UNESCO site where you can see the Roman aqueduct and its fairytale castle before heading back to the city.

Madrid to Granada
You'll travel south through the windswept La Mancha plateau (the landscape Don Quixote once crossed) to reach Toledo, the ancient hilltop 'City of Three Cultures.' A local specialist leads a walking tour past the cathedral and through a steel workshop where you'll see how the city's famous steelwork traditions continue today. From there, it's on to Granada, with an option to catch a gitano performance in the Old Town later if you're interested.

- Day 4
Granada to Costa del Sol
Granada's narrow cobbled streets show off Arab influences and Moorish architecture, with tea houses and hammams scattered throughout. You can choose to spend time in the Albacín Quarter, the oldest neighborhood with its characteristic Moorish homes, or visit the Alhambra, the fortified citadel sitting on the hilltop. Later you'll head south to Costa del Sol, with an optional stop in the hilltop village of Mijas for coastal views and a Mediterranean dinner.

Fes

You'll visit a carpet weaving cooperative to see the detailed work and traditions behind each handmade piece. The rest of your day is free to wander Fes or join an optional Arabian dinner in a traditional riad with music and entertainment.

You'll travel to Marrakesh, known as Africa's most popular year-round sun destination and a former favorite of Sir Winston Churchill. The famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square has lots of energy and activity to take in. There's an optional evening with authentic Berber cuisine and entertainment if you want to continue exploring.

Marrakesh

After that, your time is your own to wander the streets, negotiate deals in the souks and bazaars, or optionally visit a local Berber village.

You're heading to Casablanca, the city famous from Humphrey Bogart films. You'll see the elegant Corniche and the Hassan II Mosque with one of the world's tallest minarets. Then it's on to Rabat, the capital, where you can view the Mohammed V Mausoleum and Royal Palace with city views before continuing to Tangier.

This morning you'll cross the Strait of Gibraltar back to Spain and head north to Seville, known for fiery flamenco, hot Spanish summers, and Seville oranges. After arriving, you'll have the evening to relax and prepare for tomorrow's sightseeing tour, which will show you why Spanish royalty has favored this city as a winter retreat for centuries.

- Day 11
Seville
A local specialist shows you Seville's architectural highlights including monuments, pavilions, and lush gardens left over from the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition and Maria Luisa Park in the Old Quarter. You'll see the Cathedral of Seville, the world's largest Gothic cathedral and home to Christopher Columbus' tomb, and the Giralda bell tower, originally built as a minaret. The rest of the day is yours, with an optional flamenco show available when evening arrives.

After arriving, the evening is yours to unwind from traveling. There's an optional dinner and fado music experience in Bairro Alto if you want to join your Travel Director.

The rest of the day is open for exploring on your own, hopping on Lisbon's signature trams along cinematic hillsides to find leafy squares and corner taverns for coffee and custard tarts. There's an optional visit to Portugal's Golden Triangle of Cascais, Estoril, and Sintra to see some of the country's grandest palaces, then a final dinner with your new travel friends to celebrate shared memories.
