Rome
Your first day in Rome starts with meeting up with your Contiki group and getting the lay of the land. You'll take a city orientation tour that walks you through the main sights and helps you understand how everything connects. After that, everyone gathers for an included Italian dinner at a local restaurant, so you'll get to know your group while having some proper Roman food.

Florence
The journey heads from Rome toward Florence with a lunch stop in medieval Siena. You'll have time to walk through Siena's UNESCO World Heritage city centre before continuing on to Florence for an included dinner featuring Florentine specialties.

Florence
A local guide leads you on foot through Florence, taking you to Giotto's Bell Tower, Basilica Santa Croce, Piazza della Signoria, and the Duomo. Later in the evening, there's an optional Tuscan experience with a risotto demonstration, local wine, antipasto, and dessert.

You'll leave Florence for the charming Renaissance architecture and historic cafes of Lucca. From there, you'll see the Leaning Tower of Pisa before heading to the Italian Riviera. An optional wine tasting at local vineyards near Lucca is available if you're interested.

Lake Como - Milan
Traveling from Cinque Terre, you'll have a scenic stop at Lake Como to see the region's natural beauty and glamour. An optional boat cruise is available on the lake. Verona - Treviso
You'll travel to Verona, the Renaissance city known as the real setting for Romeo and Juliet, and visit Juliet's famous balcony. Then you'll head to Treviso, Venice's more laid-back neighbor, where the evening is yours to wander the cobbled streets, try local food, and track down the birthplace of tiramisu.

Venice

Bologna - Rome
Leaving Venice, you'll travel back toward Rome with a stop in Bologna, called 'La Grassa' (the Fat One) for its famous cured meats and rich pasta traditions. You'll explore the UNESCO-listed porticoes, and the evening is free for dinner with an optional 17th-century tavern experience in Rome's Trastevere.

Pompeii - Naples
You'll travel to Pompeii, the ancient Roman city preserved in volcanic ash by Mount Vesuvius. An optional guided walking tour is available to explore the ruins. Afterward you'll continue to Naples and check into your hotel in the historic city centre, with an optional tour to learn about the city's history and food culture.
