Villach
You'll arrive in Villach on your own to kick off this cycling tour through three countries. Get settled and make any final preparations for the ride ahead.
Landmarks Villach - Day 2
Villach to Austria-Italy Border
Start cycling along the River Gail valley where you'll have mountain views the whole way. The path is well-maintained and gradually climbs as you head toward the Austria-Italy border. By afternoon, you'll cross into Italy and can grab gelato to celebrate the first border crossing.

Bled
From the Italian side, you'll cycle into Slovenia and pass by Kranjska Gora ski resort before heading through quiet Slovenian countryside. If the full route feels too long, there's a train option that cuts about 10 km off the distance. You'll finish the day at Lake Bled, which has a really nice setting.

Landmarks Kranjska Gora Lake Bled - Day 4
Bled to Ljubljana
The ride takes you from Bled toward Ljubljana, passing through the medieval town of Radovljica where you'll get views of the Karawanken and Julian Alps. After riding through Kranj, you'll reach Ljubljana's old town. Take time to walk across the famous Dragon Bridge and explore the streets before settling in for dinner.

Landmarks Radovljica Kranj Dragon Bridge Ljubljana - Day 5
Ljubljana to Postojna
Leaving Ljubljana, you'll pedal through small Slovenian villages on quiet back roads, passing farms and open fields. Around midday you'll reach Postojna Cave, the second largest dripstone cave in the world. Hop on the historic cave train, which has been running here for 140 years, to see the underground formations.

Landmarks Logatec Postojna Cave - Day 6
Postojna to Lipica
You'll cycle from Postojna toward Lipica, stopping in Pivka along the way to check out the Military History Park if that interests you. At Lipica, you can visit the stables where the famous white Lipizzaner horses are bred, a tradition that goes back to 1580.

Lipica to Trieste
This final cycling day takes you from Lipica heading toward Trieste on the coast. The route follows the scenic Val Rosandra near Pesek and then traces the old Parenzana narrow-gauge railroad line. You'll mostly cycle downhill with little climbing as you get closer to the sea.

Trieste Departure
