Bari
You'll arrive in Bari and get settled into your accommodation. An optional airport transfer can take you directly to the city if you need it, so you won't have to worry about sorting out transportation right away.

Polignano a Mare - Bari
Start the day heading to Alberobello to see the UNESCO-listed trulli houses with their distinctive cone-shaped roofs. After that, you'll move on to Polignano a Mare, which sits on dramatic Adriatic cliffs. The narrow streets are worth wandering through, and you'll get nice coastal views before heading back to Bari for the evening.

Bari
A scenic bus ride takes you to Matera, where you'll see the ancient Sassi cave houses built into the hillside. You'll get some background on the city's history, and then you have free time to walk around the winding streets on your own. Later, the bus returns you to Bari.

Bari to Lecce
You'll take the train from Bari down to Lecce, a charming Baroque city in the heel of Italy. This is where you'll stay for the next couple of nights, so you can settle in and get your bearings once you arrive.

Lecce
Spend the day exploring Lecce's Baroque architecture and historic sites. In Duomo Square, you'll see the Cathedral, Bell Tower, Bishop Palace, and Seminary. After that, head to St. Oronzo Square to check out the Roman Amphitheatre, the Church of the Holy Cross, and Celestini Palace. You'll also have chances to sample local products throughout the day before another night in Lecce.
