- Day 1
Edinburgh
You'll arrive in Edinburgh and take the Airlink bus from the airport into the city center. The afternoon is yours to wander through the Old Town on foot. Edinburgh Castle is the main draw here, where you'll see the Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Destiny if you go inside. For food, grab lunch or dinner at Larder Café on the Royal Mile, or if whisky interests you, there's the Scotch Whisky Experience to check out.

- Day 2
Edinburgh
This is your Royal Edinburgh Tour day. You'll start at St Andrews Square and then head to the Royal Botanic Garden. After that, the Royal Yacht Britannia is on the itinerary, and you can browse artisan products at Ocean Terminal shopping center. Later you'll visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence for the Royal Family, where part of the State Apartments are open to visitors.

Edinburgh
You have flexibility today. The Scottish National Portrait Gallery is an option, housed in a beautiful neo-Gothic building from 1889 and the first purpose-built portrait gallery of its kind. Or head to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art if contemporary work appeals to you more. Either way, it's about what you want to see.

- Day 4
Scottish Borders
An organized excursion departs at 9:30 am from Waterloo Place heading into the Scottish Borders and Tweed Valley, where rolling hills and salmon fishing define the landscape. You can explore the ruins of Melrose Abbey, which holds the embalmed heart of Robert the Bruce, or wander through the 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel with its intricate stone carvings. The coach returns to Edinburgh around 4:30 pm.

- Day 5
Edinburgh to Glasgow
Take the City Link bus to Glasgow, which takes about 1.5 hours. Once there, you'll hop on the hop-on hop-off city tour and can explore Glasgow's main sights at your own pace throughout the day. You're staying in Glasgow for three nights total.

- Day 6
Scottish Highlands
Meet at Buchanan Bus Station at 8:15 am for a full day exploring the Scottish Highlands. You'll see Inveraray and its castle, then move through Glencoe with its famous loch-side scenery. The route continues via Loch Awe and the Rest and Be Thankful Pass to Oban, known as the Gateway to the Isles. You'll also pass Loch Lomond, one of Scotland's largest lochs with impressive mountain views. Return to Glasgow around 7 pm.

Glasgow
Morning brings a unique city tour with Invisible Cities, led by an English-speaking guide who shares their personal perspective of Glasgow from lived experience. After lunch, walk through the Botanical Gardens in the West End and stroll along the riverbank to see rainforests and tree ferns, then stop for tea at the Gardens Tea Salon. If you have time, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum offers dinosaurs, medieval armor, French impressionists, and Scottish colorists.
