- Day 1
Ivalo to Inari
You'll arrive at Ivalo airport and catch a shared transfer to your hotel in Inari. After settling in, take an evening walk along Lake Inarijarvi's shores, the third largest lake in Finland, and soak in the Arctic landscape. Dinner happens at your hotel to finish out the day.

Inari
Your hotel will pick you up for a guided hike to the Siida Museum and Nature Center, where you'll learn about Sami culture and traditions of the indigenous people in this region. The afternoon opens up with free time, and the hotel's traditional sauna is there if you want to use it and relax after the morning's activity.

Inari
What you do today depends on your travel dates. Between mid-June and mid-September (specifically June 10-15), you'll take a catamaran roundtrip across Lake Inari to see remote beaches, islands, and wild shorelines. Outside those dates, the day is free for you to wander the village at your own pace and pick up some traditional Sami souvenirs if you'd like.

Inari to Kirkenes
After breakfast, you'll drive north for about 4 hours to Kirkenes, a historic Arctic gateway sitting between the Varangerfjord and the Barents Sea. Check into Snowhotel Kirkenes where you'll stay in a warm gamme, a traditional Sami hunting and fishing cabin that gives you an authentic sense of the local heritage.

Kirkenes
Start by exploring the Snowhotel 365 exhibition with its year-round snow and ice sculptures. You can choose from optional activities like visiting young huskies and hiking to a mountain viewpoint over the fjord (about 2 hours), or checking out the reindeer enclosure. If it's September or later with clear skies, you might catch the northern lights at night.

Kirkenes
Board one of Havila Voyages' Norwegian coastal express mail ships, a legendary route running for over 130 years that serves remote coastal regions. Around midday you'll set sail from the Barents Sea into the Norwegian Sea, experiencing the rugged Arctic coastline from the water like sailors have done for generations.

Tromsø
The North Cape passes early this morning, then you'll spend the day on deck watching Arctic scenery unfold. Optional activities and excursions are available on board for an extra fee if you want to participate. Shortly before midnight, the ship docks in Tromso, and you'll check into a hotel just a few minutes' walk from the Havila Quay.

Tromsø
Tromso, the largest city north of Trondheim, has charming wooden houses and a vibrant center waiting for you. Walk around town, try the restaurants, and check out attractions like the Arctic Cathedral, the university, the art museum, and the world's northernmost brewery, all optional depending on what interests you.
