Porto
You'll arrive in Porto and head straight to the MS Estrela where you board the river ship. That evening, take an illuminations cruise around the city to see Porto's lights reflected off the water and get a feel for the layout from the river.

Porto
The afternoon is yours to walk around Porto however you like. Later in the evening, you'll visit the Palácio da Bolsa for a guided tour, then settle in for a cocktail reception followed by a traditional fado performance with live music.

Porto to Entre-os-Rios
The ship sails through the Douro Valley toward Entre-os-Rios. You'll choose between two options for the day: tour the UNESCO-listed historic site of Guimarães, or head to Quinta da Aveleda winery where you can taste wines and pair them with cheese.

Entre-os-Rios to Régua
Cruise continues to Régua with a stop at the Douro Museum where you'll learn about the region's wine traditions and history. Lunch happens at Quinta da Pacheca where the views overlook the river and you'll have wine tastings to go with the traditional meal.

Régua to Pinhão
You pick between two excursions: a guided tour of Lamego visiting the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies plus local food samples, or the 18th-century Palácio de Mateus near Vila Real. After either choice, you'll cruise to Pinhão for the evening.

Landmarks Pinhão Railway Station - Day 7
Pinhão to Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo
Tour the town of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo and walk through the castle ruins. You'll head back to the ship for dinner, then cruise toward Spain through your final night aboard the MS Estrela.

Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo to Madrid
After disembarking, you'll travel to Salamanca for a guided tour covering the University of Salamanca and the House of Shells, two historic landmarks in the ancient city. From there, continue on to Madrid and check in at your hotel for the night.
