Lima gets your full attention today. Founded back in 1535, the city mixes different cultures, food scenes, and historical sites throughout its neighborhoods. You'll take an included city tour that covers the main spots and gives you a real sense of how the place operates.

Lima to Iquitos
You're flying from Lima to Iquitos this morning. Once you land, another Uniworld representative will be waiting to get you to the Aria Amazon river cruise ship. Afterward, a panoramic city tour shows you Iquitos from the water and streets, introducing you to this jungle gateway.

Ucayali River & Yarapa River
The ship heads toward the Ucayali headstreams where options open up. You can kayak or canoe through Clavero Lake's black waters, take a swim if you're game, or visit a remote village to see how people actually live out here. At sunset, you'll cruise the Yarapa River watching for creatures active at night.

Nauta
Nauta sits between two major rivers and counts as one of the oldest settlements in this region. The market there fills with fresh fish, local fruits, and vegetables worth browsing. From Nauta, you'll journey to where the Amazon River technically begins, which is geographically interesting even if it's less dramatic than people expect.

Marañón River & Amazon River
You're living like an Amazon resident today, cruising the Marañón River hunting for Taricaya turtles and whatever else appears. A village visit lets you see daily life up close. Then you'll fish for piranha (yes, really), and when the sun drops, another wildlife search run happens along the main Amazon.

You'll fish in the Samiria River's black waters, then pick your afternoon activity: jungle walks, canoe trips, kayaking, or swimming in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. End with sunset from the Ucayali River.

Nauta to Lima
You'll walk through Nauta's town in the morning before leaving the Aria Amazon. On the way to Iquitos airport, your guide leads some excursions at stops along the route. After flying back to Lima, you'll transfer to the Wyndham Grand Costa del Sol Lima Airport hotel for your last night.
