Itinerary

  1. Day 1

Phnom Penh to Kirirom National Park

Your offroad adventure kicks off in Phnom Penh, where you'll leave the capital and head west through rural roads and dirt tracks. The first day takes you past rice paddies and small villages toward Kirirom National Park. You'll tackle some thrilling offroad sections through forest trails as the landscape opens up. Once you arrive at the park, there's time to check out the waterfalls and natural surroundings before settling in at an eco-lodge or camp for the night. The ride sets the tone for what's ahead, giving you a feel for the terrain and your bike's capabilities on Cambodia's backroads.

  2. Day 2

Kirirom National Park to Koh Kong

After an early breakfast, you'll push west into the Cardamom Mountains, one of Southeast Asia's largest rainforest areas. This section delivers some of the best offroad riding in Cambodia with challenging dirt tracks, river crossings, and seriously rugged terrain that'll test your skills. You'll pass through remote villages where mountain, forest, and river views surround you at every turn. By evening you'll roll into Koh Kong, a coastal town near the Thai border. Tatai Waterfall offers a chance to cool off and rinse away the day's dust, or you can wander around town and soak in its laid-back vibe before crashing.

  3. Day 3

    Koh Kong to Pursat

Today takes you deeper through the Cardamom Mountains on dirt roads toward Pursat, which sits near Tonle Sap lake. You'll navigate jungle trails, cross rivers, and wind through small rural communities in an isolated and rugged landscape. The terrain doesn't let up much, but the solitude makes it worthwhile. Once you reach Pursat, the floating villages on Tonle Sap become your focus. These communities are entirely built on water with houses, schools, and shops all floating together. A boat tour (if time allows) shows you how locals actually live on the lake before you settle into a guesthouse for the night.

    Meals
    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Offroad ride through Cardamom Mountains to Pursat
    • Visit floating villages on Tonle Sap lake

  4. Day 4

    Pursat to Battambang

You'll leave the mountains and head toward Battambang, one of Cambodia's most charming cities. The ride mixes dirt tracks and rural roads with plenty of offroad sections cutting through small villages and farmland. As you travel, you'll see local life unfolding in the fields and markets. In Battambang itself, colonial-era architecture lines the streets alongside local markets and ancient temples waiting to be explored. The famous Bamboo Train or Wat Ek Phnom, an 11th-century temple ruin, are both worth your time. The town's relaxed atmosphere hits different after spending the day on rough terrain.

  5. Day 5

    Battambang to Sisophon

Offroad trails and rural paths lead you toward Sisophon, a quiet town in northwestern Cambodia. You'll ride through agricultural areas where rice fields, palm trees, and distant hills create nice scenery throughout the day. The roads stay mostly dirt tracks with plenty of challenges for offroad riders to handle. Stopping at local villages lets you see traditional Khmer farming practices up close. As you get closer to Sisophon, the landscape turns more remote with fewer tourists around, giving you a more authentic feel for Cambodia. A local guesthouse will be your home base for the night before heading to Siem Reap.

    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

  6. Day 6

    Sisophon to Beng Mealea

Your ride continues toward Beng Mealea, one of Cambodia's hidden gems that most visitors never reach. Remote jungle trails provide an exhilarating offroad experience through dense forests and rural areas all day long. Today's sections are more rugged and challenging, testing your riding skills as you push through difficult tracks. When you get to Beng Mealea, the temple complex itself stops you in your tracks. Massive trees and vines grow through stone structures, with the jungle having reclaimed this place completely. Walking through at your own pace lets you feel the mystical, untouched atmosphere that makes this temple different from the crowded sites elsewhere. A guesthouse or homestay nearby becomes your rest spot.

    Meals

    Included Activities

    • Offroad ride to Beng Mealea

  7. Day 7

    Beng Mealea to Siem Reap

The final stretch takes you from Beng Mealea to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat. You'll ride through a mix of offroad tracks and rural paths, passing scenic countryside and small villages one last time. After days in the backcountry, this ride offers a more peaceful transition as the terrain gradually shifts from rugged trails to busier roads. Civilization starts showing more signs as you approach Siem Reap, and by afternoon you'll roll into the vibrant energy of the city. Your 7-day offroad adventure wraps up here. Most people mark the occasion with a traditional Khmer dinner or wandering through the lively night markets.

Traveling from Chiang Mai through Chiang Rai, Chiang Khong, and onward along the Mekong was such a memorable journey. The scenery changed constantly, from quiet riverside villages to dramatic limestone cliffs. Pak Beng was a pleasant surprise with its laid-back atmosphere, and arriving in Luang Prabang by river felt magical. Mr. Minh was a fantastic, sharing stories about local life and history that made every stop meaningful. The service on board was first-class, and I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone who enjoys slow travel with a touch of luxury.

I highly recommend this 10-day tour from Bangkok to Vientiane and Luang Prabang. The itinerary flows beautifully: temples, waterfalls, caves, and the scenic train ride across the border all felt perfectly paced. One of our favorite experiences was the boat trip along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, followed by a refreshing dip at Kuang Si Falls. Everything was well organized, the accommodations were comfortable, and the transportation was seamless. Ms. Loan checked in with us several times before departure to ensure everything was set, which gave us great peace of mind. We’ll definitely travel with Viet Long Travel again!

This was the best multi-country tour we’ve ever taken! The highlights were many: rowing through Tam Coc, trekking the streets of Hanoi, cruising Halong Bay overnight, exploring the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, and watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Every destination had its own magic. Ms. Loan from Viet Long Travel was so caring and professional. She checked in on us often and gave us great local tips, which made us feel truly looked after. The itinerary had a perfect balance of sightseeing, cultural experiences, and time to relax. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the best of Indochina in one trip.
