Arrival in Oslo
You'll land in Oslo and get settled at your hotel. Stop by the Expeditions hospitality desk to pick up cabin tags and chat with the operations team about what's coming up. The rest of your day is open, so you can wander around the city on your own.

Oslo to Longyearbyen
After breakfast at the hotel, make sure your cabin bag has the tags properly attached. You'll head to the airport for a charter flight to Longyearbyen. Once you arrive, take a guided tour through town, then transfer to the pier where embarkation happens in the late afternoon. Get to your cabin, go through the safety briefings, and then the ship departs.

Svalbard Archipelago Exploration
The Svalbard Archipelago is your playground now. The expedition team adjusts activities each day based on weather, ice, and what wildlife shows up. With almost 24 hours of daylight, you can keep going as long as you want. Multiple landings, Zodiac runs past ice cliffs, whale watching, and tundra hikes fill your options.

Svalbard Wildlife and Tundra
Fjords, mountain ranges, and polar desert landscapes surround you today. Look for walrus hanging out on sea ice and beaches. Hike across tundra where wildflowers bloom, check out tall cliffs with nesting birds, and keep your eyes on pack ice for polar bears. The expedition team stays alert for wildlife the whole time.

Sailing Towards East Greenland
The ship heads toward East Greenland's coast. Watch for whales feeding in the rich waters up here. Seals pop up regularly, and you'll see various seabirds like northern fulmar and Brunnich's guillemot as pack ice gets thicker.

East Greenland Exploration
East Greenland's waters hold strong icy currents that have cut the region off from the rest of the world, creating huge populations of fish, seals, and whales. Expedition experts run talks about Arctic plants, animals, ice, and exploration history. Morning fog typically hangs around until the sun climbs higher.

East Greenland Coast Exploration
Still working the east coast of Greenland with the experienced expedition team calling the shots daily. You'll get up to two landings or Zodiac excursions each day, cruising past those dramatic ice cliffs and following whales as they feed near the surface.

Landmarks East Greenland - Day 9
Inuit Village of Ittoqqortoormiit
Some of the Arctic's most dramatic scenery appears today. Deep fjords and narrow channels sit between ice-covered peaks reaching 2,000 meters, with giant icebergs throughout. You'll visit Ittoqqortoormiit, the remote Inuit village with roughly 500 people that's the most isolated settlement around. Time to walk around, see the museum and Lutheran church, and meet the locals and their sled dogs.

Fjord Wildlife Viewing
Fjords surrounded by fertile volcanic soil and protective mountains create a rich habitat for animals. Muskox, arctic foxes, mountain hares, and reindeer hang around the fjord areas. Look up for common eider, glaucous gull, black-legged kittiwake, northern fulmar, and arctic terns diving into the icy bays.

Landmarks East Greenland - Day 11
Total Solar Eclipse
The ship sails toward the solar eclipse totality path. You'll have lunch aboard while the crew navigates to the right position. Get up on deck as the moon slides in front of the sun and the landscape goes dark like twilight. Totality lasts about 2 minutes and 18 seconds, then you see the diamond ring effect as it ends. Later, a celebratory dinner with your fellow passengers wraps up the evening.

Post-Eclipse Fjord Exploration
More fjord systems in Greenland fill your day. Each one contains smaller fjords and sounds branching off. The fertile volcanic soil and mountain protection make wildlife plentiful here. Spot musk ox, arctic foxes, mountain hares, and reindeer near the fjords. Glaucous gull, black-legged kittiwake, northern fulmar, common raven, and common eider fill the sky.

Tundra Hiking and Geological Formations
Great hiking options are available with flowering tundra plants scattered around, old bones left from centuries of Inuit hunting, and fumaroles creating strange landscapes. Heated groundwater rises to the surface creating bubbling pools and mineral features. Check out striking sedimentary rock formations with beautiful layers, built over roughly 4,000 years.

Landmarks East Greenland - Day 14
Denmark Strait to Iceland
The ship crosses the Denmark Strait heading toward Iceland. Watch for whale blows and seabirds trailing behind in the Arctic winds. This is time to think back on everything you've seen, trade photos with other passengers, and breathe in the ocean air. As Iceland gets closer, fishing boats working the coastal waters remind you that civilization is returning.

Disembarkation in Reykjavik
Early morning brings you into Reykjavik where you disembark around 8 am. An included transfer to the airport gets you headed toward your next destination.
