Antananarivo
You'll arrive in Antananarivo whenever works for your flight. The group gathers at 6pm in the hotel lobby for a trip briefing that covers everything you need to know for the coming days. After that, dinner and local Madagascar drinks get things going.

Antananarivo to Miandrivazo
Today is all about getting to know Madagascar on a road trip through green landscapes and traditional villages. The route takes you through valleys where you'll see local culture firsthand. By evening you'll roll into Miandrivazo in time for dinner.

- Day 3
Tsiribihina River
Board your private boat and start the first day of a 2-day river journey on the Tsiribihina River. You'll pass through landscapes most tourists never see. There's a stop at Nosy Ampela waterfall, and as the sun dips low you'll set up camp in comfortable tents for the night.

Tsiribihina River
The boat continues west down the Tsiribihina River with music and clear skies. Throughout the day you'll see how people actually live along the water. A visit to a local village and an old tobacco plantation breaks up the river time. After dark you'll camp again, this time with local wine as the sun sets.

Tsiribihina River to Morondava
After leaving the boat, you'll head out on a rough 4-hour off-road drive to Morondava. Once there, the first order of business is settling into the hotel, then a shower and rest feel well-deserved. Just before sunset you'll head to the Avenue of the Baobabs to see Madagascar's most famous trees backlit by the evening light.

- Day 6
Morondava
This morning you'll visit Benjamina school, your tour operator's partner community. Meet the headmistress and see the improvements your participation has helped fund. You'll get a chance to drop off school supplies and pitch in on any final project work happening that day.

- Day 7
Morondava to Antananarivo
A flight takes you from Morondava back to the capital. Once you land and settle in, head to the ethical lemur park to see Madagascar's wildlife up close. The facility rehabilitates animals that were kept as pets and works to return them to the wild, which makes for a meaningful way to wrap up your time here.

Antananarivo
Your trip ends today. You can depart Antananarivo anytime that works with your travel plans.
