Itinerary
- Day 1
Les Baux - Avignon - Lyon
Start in Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage city where Roman and medieval history mix with Van Gogh's presence around every corner. From there, head to the medieval village of Les Baux and check out the Carrières de Lumières, an underground art and sound show set in old quarries. Later, you'll walk through Avignon to see the Palais des Papes, then continue to Lyon for an evening stroll through the old town. Finish up with a cable car ride to Notre-Dame de Fourvière basilica, which gives you great views of the city below.

- Day 2
Burgundy Region - Tournus - Beaune - Savigny - Dijon
Travel through Burgundy starting in Tournus, a quiet town with a stone gate and a large abbey worth seeing. Next, you'll get to Beaune, the wine capital of the region, where there's time for lunch and to visit wine museums or the historic hospice if you're interested. After that comes Savigny Castle, which has unusual collections of motorbikes, racing cars, planes, and helicopters. By evening you'll arrive in Dijon, Burgundy's capital, where medieval and Renaissance buildings including the Palace of the Dukes line the streets.

- Day 3

Begin in Besançon, a Roman city with a nice historic center and a 17th-century citadel. Then you'll head to Alsace, a region with its own Germanic culture, German dialect, and traditional architecture throughout. Colmar is next, famous for its colorful half-timbered houses and canals, plus local white wines and good food. You'll visit Riquewihr, a medieval town with cobblestone streets, explore an old winery, and taste local wine with a sweet treat to go with it. You'll arrive in Strasbourg by evening.

Start your day in Strasbourg with a boat trip through Petite France's canals, taking in the medieval streets and Gothic cathedral. Then you'll cross into Germany and enter the Black Forest region. In Speyer, a historic Rhine city, you can see its grand Romanesque cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel to Heidelberg next and take a cable car up to the castle with its impressive views over the city. Your ticket covers the castle gardens, wineries, and an apothecary museum.
