Madrid

- Day 2
Madrid
This morning includes a guided tour covering central Madrid's main sites like Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor. You'll then head to Retiro Park to see the lake and Palacio de Cristal. After that, a stop at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to see Real Madrid's home. The afternoon is yours to do as you like before heading back to your hotel in the evening.

You'll travel through Castile into Aragon, stopping in Zaragoza to visit the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. From there you'll see Poblet Abbey, a well-preserved medieval monastery set in a quiet location. Later you continue on to Barcelona, arriving in the evening.

Barcelona to Girona

Girona to Chambéry

You'll visit Gruyères, known for cheese and chocolate, plus the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory. Chillon Castle sits on Lake Geneva shores before you reach Leysin by mid-afternoon. Pack winter clothes for mountain scenery. You'll take a cable car up to Glacier 3000 where you can walk on a suspended bridge between peaks, explore the Ice Cathedral, or try the Fun Park. Stop in Interlaken for lunch, then travel to Lucerne. By evening you reach Zurich with time to walk around the center.

Zurich to Milan

Stop in Como for lunch, a beautiful lakeside city with gardens and a cathedral. Continue to Milan where you'll visit Piazza del Duomo before transferring to your hotel.

- Day 10
Rome
A three-hour tour combines walking through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, the Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour ends at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m. where your guide offers an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. In the evening you transfer to Trastevere for dinner, returning to your hotel around 8:30 p.m.

Rome to Florence
Leave Rome heading north through beautiful scenery. Once in Florence, go to Piazzale Michelangelo for views over the city. Spend the afternoon exploring on your own with plenty of dining choices in the evening.
