- Day 1
Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get settled at your hotel after your transfer. Later, a guide will meet you and walk you through the basics of what to expect. By evening, head over to Via Cavour where you'll find no shortage of restaurants serving Italian food, Indian dishes, Chinese cuisine, and other international options to choose from.

Rome - Vatican City
Spend the morning on a three-hour guided tour that combines walking through Imperial Rome with a bus ride covering the main sights. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, the Colosseum's exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo before reaching Vatican City around 11:00 a.m. The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are optional if you want to explore further. After lunch, you can wander through Trastevere neighborhood in the afternoon, then head back to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.

Rome to Nice
Leave Rome and travel north through Italy, stopping in Pisa for a short train ride to Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower with lunch included. After that, drive through the scenic Mediterranean coast with a quick stop in Sestri Levante, a charming seaside spot. You'll continue toward the French Riviera, pulling into Nice in the late afternoon.

Today focuses on the Provence region starting in Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage city with Roman and medieval sites connected to Van Gogh's history. Visit Les Baux, a small medieval village, and see Carrières de Lumières with its underground art and sound show in former quarries. After lunch, stroll through Avignon to see the Palais des Papes, then continue to Lyon. There you'll walk the World Heritage old town and ride a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourviére basilica for views of the city.

Next, check out Savigny Castle, a 15th-century structure in the wine region with museums featuring motorbikes, racing cars, planes, and helicopters. End your day in Dijon, Burgundy's capital, known for lively streets and medieval and Renaissance buildings including the Palace of the Dukes.

Dijon to Paris
Depart Dijon and head to Fontenay Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing an impressive Cistercian center. Continue to Semur-en-Auxois, a medieval city surrounded by ancient walls. Take time for lunch and walk through Vézelay, considered one of France's most beautiful villages with its large basilica that once launched the Way of St. James. From there, continue toward Paris, arriving in the evening.
