Itinerary
- Day 1
Tangier
Your driver meets you when you arrive and takes you to your accommodation in Tangier. After settling in, you'll have the afternoon to check out some of the city's main attractions. Head to Cape Spartel to see where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet, then walk through the Hercules Caves just nearby. Stop by the old Kasbah to get a feel for the historic part of town. Grab lunch at one of the scenic spots overlooking the water before heading back to rest.

Tangier to Chefchaouen
This morning you'll drive through Tetouan, known as the white city for its whitewashed buildings, then continue on to Chefchaouen. The mountain village is famous for its blue-painted streets and buildings, and you'll spend time wandering the charming alleys and checking out small shops and local coffee houses. Visit the sacred water source and the historic mosque, then explore the old town square where locals gather. It's a relaxed kind of place where you can really take your time walking around and soaking in the atmosphere.

Chefchaouen to Fes
After breakfast, you'll head back to Volubilis, the ancient Roman capital dating to the 3rd century BC. Take time to walk through the preserved mosaics, shops, and old houses scattered across the site. From there, you'll pass through Meknes and then arrive in Fes, the first capital of the region. The drive gives you a nice sense of the transition between different parts of Morocco as you travel south and east.

Fes
Your guided tour of Fes starts with panoramic views of the 8th-century city spread out before you. You'll visit the royal residence and explore the Jewish Quarter, learning how different communities lived and worked. Stop at the University of Al-Qarawiyyin, which has been operating continuously since its founding and is one of the oldest educational institutions in the world. Walk through traditional ceramic and leather workshops to see artisans at work, then see other historic sites scattered throughout the medina.

Fes to Merzouga
After breakfast, you're heading south through the Middle Atlas mountains. Stop in Ifrane, a mountain town that locals sometimes call the Moroccan Swiss city because of its cooler climate and alpine feel. Later, you'll drive through one of the world's largest cedar forests where you can spot Barbary apes in their natural habitat. Grab lunch in Midelt, then continue through Errachidia to reach Merzouga. In the late afternoon, take a private camel ride out onto the dunes at sunset, then arrive at camp for dinner and Berber music around a campfire under the stars.

Merzouga to Boumalne Dades
Start your day watching the sunrise over the Sahara dunes from your camp. After breakfast, you'll drive back toward Boumalne Dades Gorge, stopping to learn about ancient underground irrigation canals built between the 11th and 14th centuries. Have lunch at a traditional restaurant, and then you've got free time to walk through Dades Gorge canyon with the water flowing alongside. The panoramic views include an old Sandcastle structure perched on the cliffs. Return to your riad for dinner as the light fades.

Boumalne Dades to Marrakech
Today you'll travel through Kalaat Magouna, a town known for its rose festival, and you'll have free time to explore women's cooperatives where they make natural perfumes. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Morocco because of all the films shot there. Tour Atlas Studios, the set where Game of Thrones and Gladiator were filmed. Lunch happens at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site with stunning earthen architecture. From there, you'll pass through Ounilla Valley and cross the High Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech for dinner.

Marrakech
After breakfast, an expert local guide takes you through Marrakech's labyrinthine medina. You'll visit Bahia Palace with its intricate tile work and courtyards, check out Medersa Ben Youssef, and see Koutoubia Mosque. Spend time in the vibrant souks learning about local handicrafts and haggling if you'd like. Head to Jamaa el Fnaa square where storytellers, snake charmers, and henna tattoo artists gather and perform. Grab lunch at a nice restaurant, then by evening return to witness the nightlife in the square where temporary restaurants serve grilled meats and soups.

Rabat - Tangier
You'll head out early via the highway to Casablanca, Morocco's largest city. Visit Hassan II Mosque, the country's largest mosque and one of the few open to non-Muslims if you're interested. Continue on to Rabat, the current capital, to see Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas with views over the coast. Arrive in Tangier by evening. If your departure flight is from Casablanca or Marrakech instead, alternative drop-off can be arranged to get you there.
