Hobart
You'll arrive in Hobart this afternoon and jump right into exploring Tasmania's capital. The city tour takes you up Mt. Nelson for views across the area, then through Battery Point where Georgian cottages line the streets. After that you'll see Constitution Dock where the Sydney to Hobart yacht race finishes each year. There's time to walk through the Botanical Gardens before heading to your Welcome Dinner with your Travel Director.

Strahan
Today you're heading into western Tasmania to Mount Field National Park, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. You'll walk through tall eucalypts and flowering plants to reach Russell Falls. Later the route continues to Lake St. Clair, which is Australia's deepest freshwater lake. By evening you'll arrive in Strahan, the gateway town to Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.

Strahan
You'll cruise the Gordon River and Macquarie Harbour, passing through Hells Gates into World Heritage wilderness. The boat stops at Heritage Landing where you can see a 500-year-old Huon pine tree. From there you'll go to Sarah Island to learn about its past as a convict penal colony. The day wraps up with a live performance of 'The Ship That Never Was', a true story about a famous escape.

Cradle Mountain
This morning takes you to Cradle Mountain at 1,545 metres where you'll explore the wild alpine moorlands around Dove Lake. You'll learn about the Tasmanian Devil and then visit Devils @ Cradle sanctuary on a make travel matter day keeper tour to help support conservation efforts. After that you're heading toward the north-west coast for your overnight stay.

Penguin - Sheffield - Ashgrove
Your day starts at Table Cape, a 180-metre high volcanic remnant with coastal views that stretch up to 175 kilometres. Next you'll head to Penguin town to see its penguin sculptures. Then it's through Sheffield, known as The Town of Murals with over 100 historic paintings covering the buildings. You'll finish at Ashgrove Tasmanian Farm where you can sample award-winning local cheeses and optionally try locally made ice cream.

Cataract Gorge
You'll travel to Launceston and spend time at Cataract Gorge, a dramatic natural chasm carved by ancient rivers. The site combines bushland with Victorian gardens full of exotic plants and ferns. You can ride the scenic chairlift for a different view over the water. The afternoon is free so you can relax or choose to take one of the available river cruises.

Landmarks Cataract Gorge - Day 7
Bicheno
Today you're visiting Bridestowe, a huge lavender farm that perfumes the Tasmanian countryside from late spring through early summer when it blooms. You'll see how lavender gets used in fragrances, ice cream, teas and jams. Next you'll check out the Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, sculpted as World War One soldiers. The day ends in Bicheno where little penguins come back to shore after dark.

Richmond - Derwent River
You'll experience Freycinet Peninsula and Freycinet National Park with its vivid ocean blues, pink granite cliffs and wild landscape at Coles Bay. Later you'll visit the historic town of Richmond with Georgian buildings from the 1820s that now house boutiques, galleries and cafes. The day ends at the Derwent River shores where local palawa people welcome you to country and share knowledge about local bush tucker.

The day finishes with a Farewell Dinner at a historic waterfront pub.
