What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- J
Jack
Asked on October 3rd, 2025Can you kindly advise on the following questions. This tour ends in Auckland? As per our website the itinerary advises it ends in Auckland but the top of the page mentions Whangarei. Can you advise on the "medium fitness level" requirement needed for this trip? What does this mean and how much walking is done every day? Can you confirm how many people have already booked on this tour for the departure on the 23rd of February?
AAT KingsOperator•Written October 2025This tour concludes in Auckland on 11 March. Please note that the Trip Details on the top page are currently displaying the incorrect end city. For accessibility, this tour is not recommended for guests who have difficulty walking. In addition to extended walking, there will also be considerable periods of standing. Te Puia – Te Pō Experience: involves walking approximately 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) at a slow, steady pace. Terrain includes gravel paths, boardwalks, and some uneven natural ground. Waitomo Caves: the cave floor can be wet and slippery, so sturdy footwear with good grip is essential. The tour operates with a maximum of 48 guests. Our reservations team does not receive the exact guest count, as numbers can fluctuate due to courtesy holds and cancellations. To check availability, I created a test booking for 10 guests and it did not go to request, which indicates there is still plenty of space on this departure.
